Extra-curricular activities ~ 2024-2025 School Year
These social-emotional growth activities are provided to enrich student's education, help them form new friendships, and provide support to every student as they grow! Students may pick up to three clubs.
Additionally, student organizations for MS and HS may be signed up as "extras":
- Young Men of Excellence,
- Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.),
- GSA, and
- Community and Unity organizations
These are available under MS and HS clubs.
These are the OHVA Club Expectations for Students:
Did You Know?
Being involved in up to three Clubs can and should be used to supplement your students' academic attendance. Here's how!
- Be sure your students' academic schoolwork in completed for the day.
- Student attends a club, and afterward the Learning Coach can add the attendance for the club in the closest attendance category!
- This also goes for The Zone, K12 activities, and teams such as school organizations, in addition to Clubs. These are all social-emotional learning opportunities.
- Families have up to twelve hours of supplemental family time per week to use for social-emotional learning, family activities, Clubs and other activities related to the curriculum. For example, Spelling Club is ELA supplemental time. Trivia Club can be reported in any category. Cooking Clubs are Math, Health or Science, and a bit of ELA (Split the time). History Geeks is History or Social Studies... Art clubs are art or ELA time... if you have a question about those, ask Teri Lynn!
- Be sure your total time for the day is not more than ten hours for the day.
- You can watch recordings of a Club if one was done, and report that time.
- Family activities such as field trips, a family business, and a student's athletic time can also be reported up to a certain number of hours.
- CLUBS COUNT, each club participated in may count for ONE Face to Face activity per club in the year (not per meeting), since the pandemic, until June 2024. Example: Your student participates (means attending when club meets, not just signing up) in three clubs. Voila! You have three F2F!
- If you have a question about those, ask Teri Lynn! Contact information is below!
