3/3/25 OG NEWS

March 3, 2025
No attendance days
A gentle reminder that there is no student attendance on Thursday, March 6, due to spring conferences. Also, there is no student attendance on Friday, March 7. We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday, March 10, for a full day.
Spring Conferences
Spring Conferences will take place on March 6 from 1:00 - 8:00 pm. Virtual conferences are available from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, and in-person conferences are available from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. New! View & Pay Student Fees Directly in the PowerSchool Parent Portal
You can now view and pay your student’s fees directly from the PowerSchool Parent Portal! By visiting the BALANCE page in your PowerSchool account, you’ll see your child’s individual fees and balances. From there, you can securely make a payment through our Power RevTrak Web Store with just a few clicks. To get started, you can just log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and navigate to the BALANCE page. If you have any questions about creating your parent PowerSchool account, please contact Dave Huber at huber@ogschool.org.
Report Cards
Trimester 2 report cards will be emailed home on Tuesday, March 4. It is important to remember that learning is a process, and every child progresses at their own pace. Also, it is not unusual for a child’s proficiency in standards to fluctuate as expectations increase. Use the report card as an opportunity to celebrate growth and set goals together. If you do not see an email from the school on Tuesday, you can check your messages directly in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Simply log in and click the BrightArrow Messages icon to view recent communications.
Kindergarten Information Night
If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025 and is planning to attend kindergarten in the fall, pre-registration is open. Please begin this process by clicking HERE.
Kindergarten Information Night is on March 13 from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Jr. High Cafeteria. This is an opportunity to learn more about kindergarten and meet the teachers. Please note that no childcare will be provided for this event, but we will be offering a live stream option to view at home.
Please pass on this information to anyone else you know who has a child turning 5 on or before September 1.
Social Emotional Screener (SAEBRS)
This week, the universal screener SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) will be administered. Students in grades 3-8 participate in this screener by answering questions related to Social, Academic, and Emotional behavior. The data gathered from those surveys, along with information from staff members and parents, help to identify students in need of social-emotional interventions.
Early Entry - Applications Due Today
The application deadline is today (3/3) for families wishing to explore early entrance to kindergarten or 1st grade for their child. More information and the application can be found on our website. No late applications will be considered.
CogAT Results - 3rd & 5th Grade
CogAT reports were sent to families via email around 2:30 PM today, 3/3/25. If you do not see an email titled "CogAT Reports & Information" from us, you can check your messages directly in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
