Our Vision
The Vision of RES is to provide a welcoming, happy, respectful, and safe learning environment that supports all learners and encourages students to be lifelong learners.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your continued support of our school community.
Mr. Kuhn spent two weeks with us sharing about constellations in the star lab. This is always a special treat and we enjoy exploring and learning more about the constellations. Thank you Mr. Kuhn!
I'm excited to remind you about our Veteran's Day Program, which will take place on November 11th. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our kindergarten and 1st grade students to honor those who have served in the military. This is a friendly reminder for students to wear their red, white, and blue on Monday.
Additionally, we will be hosting breakfast back in the cafeteria beginning Tuesday, November 12th. If your child will be eating breakfast at school, please help remind your child to go directly to the cafeteria before going to class. Our procedures will be for students to eat in the west cafeteria if their classroom is on the west wing. Students whose classroom is on the east wing will eat breakfast in the east cafeteria. Mrs. Kaster is excited to bring back some delicious breakfast options for our students.
Thank you once again for being such an important part of our school. We look forward to seeing you there!
Warm regards,
Dr. Shaffner, Principal
Mrs. Myers, Assistant Principal
Tell Me Something Good
Sally Bosse
Ms. Grieser says, "Sally's sweet little personality and her precious smile lights up our kindergarten classroom. She is always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needs an extra friend. She genuinely cares for others and takes an interest in getting to know them. I am so very proud of this little free spirit. She is a great example and role model in our class."
Lilyana Heideman
Lilyana Heideman is a 3rd grader in Mrs. Buzzard’s class. She is kind, helpful, and has a contagious smile.
Mrs. Buzzard says, “Lilyana is a very hardworking student. She is one that you can always count on to be doing the right thing, and being respectful to everyone around her. She always walks in the room with a smile and a story! She greatly cares about others, and is always willing to help. My classroom would not be the same without her. Keep up the positive attitude, Lilyana!”
Mrs. Anne Zachery
The passion Mrs. Zachery brings to the classroom is remarkable. She goes above and beyond to help her students grow academically and personally. Her positive energy and patience create a welcoming space where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore new ideas. She makes a real difference every day. The way she connects with each student shows how much she truly cares. She is truly dedicated and compassionate educator.
Mrs. Zachery is also a teacher leader, mentoring our new teachers, and helping plan special school and family events. She is a true inspiration, and we appreciate her deeply.
Mr. Rick Cummings
Mr. Cummings goes above and beyond to keep our school safe, clean, and welcoming. For example, using our school colors, he painted the wall by the office over fall break (and we are ready for him to paint more of our walls).
He brings so much positivity to our school. The pride he takes in his work and his warm smile make our school a better place. He sets a wonderful example of pride in one’s work, and we’re grateful for everything he does. Thank you for your dedication, consistency, and hard work. His hard work is appreciated more than he knows.

Music
Dear Families,
I wanted to take a moment to share what your children are doing in music class this semester.
Students in grades K-1 are actively engaging in learning songs for Veterans Day. Students in grades K-6 are already learning songs for the upcoming Christmas season. They are not only singing but also exploring the joy of playing instruments, which enhances their musical skills and teamwork.
We appreciate your encouragement at home, and I look forward to seeing how these experiences enrich our students' love for music.
Best regards,
Mr. Milner

Car Rider Procedures
DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES
Drop Off:
No Students are to be dropped off before 7:47. This is due to safety concerns for students and staff.
Cars will come NORTH on Sexton from 16th Street..
Turn RIGHT into the RES Parking Lot.
There will be 6 lanes for drop off and they will be marked. We ask all preschool and Kindergarten families to use lanes 1 and 2, which is by the sidewalk. 1st-6th grade students can use either Lane 3 - 6. Once you are in your lane proceed forward till stopped. A staff member will be at the end of the lanes to stop cars. Once all 6 lanes are stopped students may be let out on the passenger side. DO NOT LET STUDENTS EXIT CAR UNTIL DIRECTED BY STAFF. This will be done with handheld signs.
Once students are on the sidewalk the front 6 cars will be released by the staff member and then the next 6 cars will pull up to release students.
Once cars are released they will follow in a single file line to the back lane to exit the parking lot.
At Sexton Street all cars will turn right to exit. DO NOT TURN LEFT. Cars will then proceed to Foster Heights.
If you arrive after 8:10 am and there are no staff members present, do not drop your child off. Bring them to the front of the building and drop them off at the Main Entrance.
Pick Up
Car Rider Pick up will begin at 2:45 except on Wednesday when it begins at 1:55
Cars will come North from 16th Street and turn right into the RES parking lot.

Have your assigned number displayed in the front window on the passenger side.
At the end of the lane you will be stopped by a staff member who will then call out students to enter cars.
Once the front 6 cars are finished they will be released by a staff member to exit the parking lot. Go to the back lane and go to the exit. All cars will turn Right and go north on Sexton.
