Bike Bus Info - Recyclery
Hello Port Townsend school parents!!
The Recyclery is excited to announce that we will be running a bike bus to your schools!
What is a bike bus? Simply put, a bike bus is a guided bike ride, where chaperones escort students on a set route to and from school. We will be riding to and from Salish Coast Elementary, Blue Heron Middle School and Ocean K–12. Students will be able to join the bike bus at one of the designated stops, or as the bike bus passes by. Parents are welcome to join the bike bus but their attendance is not mandatory.
We would like to invite the parents of these schools to meet with us for an information session/discussion. This will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 6-7 PM at the Recyclery.
If you or your child are interested in participating in the bike bus, please fill out the registration/waiver here. Registration is not required for the information session.
These are the pick up and drop off routes. For more information, please check out our FAQ.
Bike Bus Leadership Opportunity
Any student interested in a leadership opportunity on the Bike Bus should email MB: marmstrong@ptschools.org. This would entail a 7AM start on a weekly basis and our jobs would be to ride among the other riders to help model and remind them of bike safety rules of the road. This is an amazing opportunity to push our skills and lengthen our ride time while helping others. Come on- you can do it! Get up early and say yes.
