MEET THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR!
Hello, Heritage families!
My name is Katie Criss and I am the new school counselor at Heritage Elementary. I am originally from Texas, but I have worked in Nashville schools as a first grade teacher, English Language teacher, and school counselor for the last 14 years. I am so excited to work with Heritage students and families as the school counselor this year.
I am here to support students with social emotional skills through classroom lessons, small group counseling, positive behavior supports, individual counseling, and school-wide events. I also am here to connect families with community resources as well as consult with families and staff to best support students with attendance, behavior, and academic success. If your student or family ever has any school counseling needs, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at caitlin_criss@plsd.us or by phone at ext.1331. I look forward to serving Heritage students and families this 2024-2025 school year!
LIBRARY NEWS!
Welcome back to the library!
I am so excited to be back in the Heritage library this school year! Here are some things that will
be helpful to know about our library procedures. Grades 1-4 will begin to check out books from
the library the week of August 26th. Kindergarten students won’t start checkout until the week
of September 9th. Grades K/1 will be able to check out one book per week, grade 2 will be
allowed to check out 2 books and grades 3 & 4 are permitted to check out 3 books. Books must
be returned weekly in order to check out a new book from the library. Students are permitted to
renew books up to 3 times. Please keep books safely away from food, drinks, pets, and younger
siblings. Books that are lost or damaged will be billed to the student’s Infinite Campus account.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the library please feel free to contact me. Best
wishes for an amazing school year! ~ Mrs. Grumman
