PTA Events
The IEYMS PTA is sponsoring a Double Good Popcorn sale to raise funds for the 8th-grade class. Proceeds will help to keep the cost of the prom down. This is a virtual fundraiser that is 100% contactless, we keep 50% of all sales, and the product ships directly to the buyer. Every student/parent can create a Pop-Up Store, share the link, and sell the award-winning popcorn! Our fundraising window began on March 8, 2025, at 6:00 PM and goes until March 12, 2025, at 6:00 PM. You can order directly from the IEY PTA site by clicking https://popup.doublegood.com/s/065s5rqe. Or you can start your pop-up store by following the instructions below.
Before the fundraiser begins:
1. Download the Double Good app
2. Enter our event code ILMHSL in the app
3. Create your Pop-Up Store
4. Share your pop-up store with friends, family, and across social media.
If you have any issues setting up your store or would like to help out with 8th grade fundraising please reach out to Yesenia - ymflores87@yahoo.com. Please support this important PTA fundraiser.

8th Grade Updates
Cap and Gown Measurements and Orders
The eighth-grade year culminates with a series of activities designed to celebrate the achievements of our deserving students. These include the dance, a trip to Holiday Hills, an Awards Night, and a Moving Up Ceremony. There is a cost associated with the dance, Holiday Hills, and the Moving Up Ceremony. On February 15, 2025, a letter was mailed home to grade 8 parents regarding the 8th grade activities. The purpose of the letter was to provide you with a list of activities, anticipated costs, and remind you of the requirements for participation so that you and your child are prepared. Please be sure to reinforce these expectations with your child. Please check your email if you did not receive a mailed copy of the letter. Cap and Gown measurements and orders will be taken on March 25. The $17.00 fee is due upon measurement. The graduation supply company, Zolnier accepts checks and cash. Please makes checks payable to Zolnier with a memo for IEYMS cap and gown order.
Time to Spring Forward!
Daylight Savings Time 2025
What time exactly does the time change for daylight saving 2025?
The change will occur at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, moving ahead to 3 a.m.
How does the time change work in the spring?
In the spring, the clocks move forward one hour, meaning the sun sets an hour later in the evening and rises an hour later in the morning. Digital clocks like the ones on cellphones will automatically change. Analog clocks and any clocks that do not automatically adjust need to be reset manually. With the change, we lose an hour of sleep.
City School District Parent Partnership Program
Home Visits
The City School District of New Rochelle piloted a district-wide home visitation program during the 2022-2023 school year to reinforce and strengthen the home to school connection that had been disrupted by the covid-19 pandemic. Participating in a home visit is not required. A visit is completely voluntary. Families may decline a visit with no consequences. A member of the Home Visit Team may reach out to you.
