A Fantastic First Week of Adventures!
Dear Cypress Explorers,
What an incredible start to the school year! It was absolutely wonderful to see so many of you at our Back to School Night on Thursday. Your presence and involvement truly set the tone for a successful year ahead. The enthusiasm and support from our parents and guardians are what make our Cypress community so special.
As we embark on this new adventure together, here are a few important reminders to keep our journey smooth:
Every Dayโs a New Adventure!
Please remember that students must be picked up or scheduled to go to daycare at the end of each day. Your timeliness helps ensure that our adventurers are safely guided home after a full day of exploration and learning.
Tiny Tuesdays: Short but Mighty!
Every Tuesday is a Tiny Tuesday with dismissal at 12:10 PM for all grade levels. Mark your calendars so our young explorers can continue their adventures at home without any delays.
Help Us Keep Track of Our Treasures!
With over 550 students on campus, itโs easy for items to go on their own adventures. We need your help! Please label everything -- water bottles, sweaters, lunch boxes, mini food boxes -- everything! This way, when these treasures stray from their owners, we can ensure they find their way back to the rightful owner.
Carline Chronicles: A Speedy Journey Home & Keeping All Safe
To help make the carline move faster, please use a dark black marker for your car placard so itโs legible from the outside. If you used a thin marker or pen, it can be tricky to read, slowing down the adventure for everyone.
At Cypress Elementary, safety is our #1 priority. Our teachers and staff will be there to ensure that we all follow the guidelines to provide a safe and secure campus for our little explorers. Your safety and well-being are the foundation of all our adventures.
Thank you for helping make our first week back such a success. Hereโs to many more weeks of learning, growing, and adventuring together!
Warm regards,
Kazuko Tuttle
Principal, Cypress Elementary School

TK - Kinder Dismissal Pick up
Children will be picked up from their TK/Kindergarten classrooms. Students are dismissed at 1 pm all year and on Tuesdays at 12:10 pm. Please park in a designated parking spot and do not leave your car in the traffic circle unattended. This will block the flow of traffic. Stand outside the kindergarten gate. Safety is our top priority. TK and kindergarten students will NOT be escorted to the traffic circle.
Extended Day Program (EDP) students will be picked up from the EDP staff after school each day.
Late Pick Up Procedure: At 1:05 pm students will be delivered to the office to call home. If you are late to pick up your child, please park in a parking spot and retrieve your child from inside the office.
Tiny Tuesday โฐ
Please mark your calendar to remember that all Tuesdays are early dismissals at 12:10 p.m.
School Uniform ๐๐ฉณ
District K-5 schools have a mandatory uniform/standardized dress policy adopted by the Board of Education. This policy provides an opportunity for students to dress neatly for school, and it helps students to look at othersโ character instead of their attire.
No Crocs or Sandals. ๐ฉด
Due to slipping and tripping issues, crocs and sandals are NOT ALLOWED as they are a safety hazard.
Safety is our #1 Priority ๐ธ
Please prioritize the safety of our school community by strictly adhering to the parking lot rules. Following traffic guidelines and reducing your speed is crucial for a secure and efficient drop-off and pick-up process. Your commitment to these rules ensures a safe environment for our students and their families and contributes to the overall well-being of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a secure and orderly school environment.
At this time, the middle lane will remain closed, beginning at 8:00 AM. Please plan accordingly. Breakfast begins at 7:40 AM so you are more than welcomed to drop off earlier to beat the traffic. If you are parking, please be mindful when backing up and exiting the parking lot, in a safe manner.
Please follow traffic and parking laws and courteous practices for the safety of our students and for our neighbors.
