Band Buzz: September 1st, 2024

We had tremendous parental support for our first performance of the season! Thank you for donating your time and energy to help us feed, transport, hydrate, move equipment for, and cheer on our band and color guard students on Friday! We can't have the successful program we have without parental support and you are definitely appreciated!

Our next game is on Saturday, September 7th at 6pm at the Berry Center. Please note: Tickets for this week's game will need to be purchased through the Cy Fair ticketing platform, HomeTown Ticketing. A link has been included below.

CLHS Band and Color Guard Families,

We are extremely proud of our students and our first halftime performance of “Monarchy”! We will continue our normal schedule this week of rehearsals from 3:00-5:00 Tuesday-Friday, and the schedule for our Saturday game is below. Students will again need to be in their heat uniform, which includes the blue cap, gray game shirt, blue shorts, black marching band shoes and low-cut black socks.

The bibbers have all been ironed and hemmed. A Great Big THANK YOU goes out to those who helped with the ironing and sewing! The directors will tell the kids when to take the bibbers home this week. While at home, please keep the bibbers on the hanger so they do not wrinkle. More detailed washing instructions will be provided later once the band starts dressing in full uniform at games and contests. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The CLHS Band is hosting two competitions this year requiring 200 volunteers each. We need ALL parents to volunteer for one or more shifts. We also have volunteer opportunities for students age 15 and older and will provide a letter documenting their volunteer hours.

Here are the signup links for volunteers to run the US Bands contest September 28th. Next week we will send out the links to volunteer to run the BOA contest October 5th. We also need volunteers to help with our band during the contest (bus chaperones, meal servers, move equipment on/off the field). Those signups will come out the week before each contest. We need everyone to help to pull this off!

Note: Falcon Band and Color Guard members can volunteer in the morning but need to be at the school at 11:45.

Daniel Cervantes from BSA Troop 595 completed his Eagle Scout project to provide the band with traffic barricades to safely block the parking lot for practice. Thank you to all who donated and helped in completing this project for his journey to Eagle.

Please Note: Only bus chaperones will be allowed to enter the stadium for free. All other volunteers will need to purchase a ticket.

Senior (Age 60+) Gold Card

The Clear Creek ISD Senior Gold Card is available to residents of Clear Creek ISD who are age 60 and older and all retired Clear Creek ISD employees. The Gold Card offers our senior friends free admission to all CCISD home athletic events and most fine arts student performances including plays, concerts and choir performances.

Clear Bag Policy Enforced

All CCISD Stadiums strictly enforce a Clear Bag Policy. This means no large bags or backpacks will be allowed to be brought through the gates into the stadium. Please leave all purses or bags securely locked in your vehicle or you will be turned away at the gate. No exceptions will be made.

Musicians,

If you are interested in taking private lessons, please fill out the linked form and send in with $25 enrollment fee ASAP so that we can get you set up with an instructor. If you have never taken lessons before, there is no better time to start than now! The best teacher to student ratio is one on one, and our private lesson teachers are some of the best in the business. There is no better way to receive individualized instruction on your instrument!
