Dear Dimond Families:
Dear Dimond Families:
What a gorgeous weekend for track, soccer, softball, baseball, and Mother’s Day! I hope you all were able to enjoy the sunshine.
This week is graduation on Thursday and we are excited to honor our Dimond graduates! Tickets are limited and we try to be very equitable with our redistribution of tickets when someone turns their tickets back in. Our graduation coordinators work tirelessly right up until graduation to ensure all the tickets are used and distributed in the fairest way possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this process as the number of total attendees is set by the Alaska Airlines Center.
Finals are the last two days of school, which is already next week! Teachers offer a variety of finals or final projects, but all of them are a significant part of student grades. Additionally, we ask that students bring minimal items to school on the last two days as they will no longer have locker access to store any personal belongings. ALL bags will be searched upon arrival to school on the last two days.
Lastly, Please note! No blue passes for early dismissal will be delivered during finals unless prearranged. Blue pass distribution during class is disruptive to students completing final exams.
Warm Regards,
Principal D’Atri
Extended School Year and Summer School
Summer School- Credit Recovery
Summer school is available for those students who have failed courses at Dimond this academic school year.
If you’re looking for ways to make up those credits see the QR code in the flier below!
Extended School Year, ESY
The purpose of extended school year is to allow students who scored between 50% - 59.9% at the end of the semester an opportunity to bring their grade to a D in the four core content areas. Your student’s teacher should be reaching out to you after the new year to discuss passing options for your student.
Please see the flier below and use the link to the QR to complete the interest form.

End Of Year Policies
No Early Finals
As a longstanding policy, Dimond High does not provide early finals. If for some reason, your student must miss their final exam, they should contact the Curriculum Office to schedule a make-up exam A.S.A.P. The Curriculum Office will be open for make-up finals May 27th through May 30th,, and it will reopen in July.
We will complete a grade change process in August if needed after the exam has been graded. Please be aware that if you do not take your final until July/ August your end of second semester grade may make you ineligible to play until that test has been taken and graded.
Please Note! No Blue passes will be given during finals for early dismissal unless prearranged. Blue pass distribution is disruptive to the school day and other students taking exams.
Locker Clean Out
Locker cleanout for grades 9-11 will occur on Monday, May 19th during the last few minutes of school. Please help remind students to start bringing items home from their locker. They should only bring to school what is necessary for class, weather, and extracurricular activities.
No Bags During Finals
During finals (Tuesday 5/20 and Wednesday 5/21), students will not be permitted to bring backpacks/large bags to school. Students may bring a small purse, fanny pack or lunch bag, however, ALL bags will be searched upon entry.
Any large bags will be stored securely during the school day and students will be able to pick them up before going home. If you believe your student has an exceptional need to have a larger bag, please reach out to Principal Hayden (Student Services AP) ahead of time so we can avoid any confusion or frustration.
