Fire and Rescue Program Highlights
Congratulations to Senior, Kory Galloway (CHS), for his recent achievement in obtaining his Firefighter II certification. He has been working as an intern with the Greencastle Fire Department while enrolled in the Fire and Rescue Capstone program. He also successfully completed the Law Enforcement and Fire and Rescue I programs. Additionally, Kory volunteers with the Cataract Fire Department. Great job Kory!
The Fire and Rescue program would also like to sincerely thank Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and Chief Brian Stearly for their donation of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. These seven units will join the previously donated units by Cloverdale Fire Department and are recent enough to be used in live fire training and to be taken to the SkillsUSA competition. The Putnam County fire service teaches our students what a family it is, by continuing to invest in the next generation of emergency responders.
Student Outreach - Santa Drop
Area 30 Student Ambassadors volunteered to wrap gifts for the Santa Drop event led by the Putnam County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Thank you FOP for all you do for kids!

Where Are They Now?
Meet Kayla Lee, a graduate of Greencastle High School (Class of 2015) and former Automotive Services and Technology student at Area 30 Career Center. As an Area 30 student, Kayla honed her technical skills and competed in various prestigious competitions, including SkillsUSA, the Ford/AAA competition, the Super Mileage club, and the World of Wheels project. These experiences fostered her problem-solving skills and instilled a passion for innovation, teamwork, and pursuing excellence in every challenge.
Kayla currently serves as a Senior Master Technician and lead auto tech for the Mobile Service team at Andy Mohr Ford, where she has worked for the past eight years. Traveling daily to assist customers and collaborate with fellow technicians, she defies stereotypes in the male-dominated automotive industry. Reflecting on her journey, she credits Area 30 and her instructors, Troy Anderson and Steve Ray, for empowering her to embrace her potential and voice her ideas confidently. Her advice to current students: "No matter who you are, societal standards should never define your dreams. Stay true to your passions, work hard, and believe in yourself."
