Parents, please join us at our January 7 Band Booster Meeting. Mr. Nicholson will be there for a meet and greet! Students, you can come too, but you will get a chance to visit with him during class that day.

Remember that parents who attend at least 5 booster meetings will receive a free ticket to the Band Gala! See you there!

Vars. - Monday January 20th (Martin Luther King Day) Shannon will most likely be joining us again on this day as it is the best opportunity to get more done. Rehearsal that day will be either 1pm-7pm or 2pm-8pm depending on what time Shannon arrives that morning.

DCC flags need to be untapped and returned by Wednesday. Silver/Red dot flags folded neatly and swing poles returned - MUST CHECK OFF WITH A DIRECTOR. You cannot just leave these in a pile.

JV members that spin the first silk will need to tape on a RED practice flags w/ white tape before Friday's rehearsal.

VARSITY members that spin the first silk will be taping on the Red London flags with white tape from last year before Thursday's rehearsal. Also, all varsity members will need to grab one of the black poles and tape on the part 1 silks for the ending flag feature by Thursday's rehearsal.

JV performs at 2:45pm, Varsity at 5:35pm. Expected return to WHS around 7:30ish (TBD)

PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE SECTIONALS

• Please study the schedule below for your ensemble sectional dates.
• ALL sectionals are from 7 - 8:15 AM.
• This week is weird. We will start sectionals on Thursday (Jan 9) with Wind Ensemble. Seniors on Friday (Jan 10).
• The typical schedule is:
• WS/Seniors on Mondays (this group will also use class time for perc ens in addition to band music)
• Symphonic Winds on Tuesdays
• Symphonic Band on Wednesdays
• Wind Ensemble on Thursdays
• Large Ensembles on Fridays
• SOME WEEKS ARE DIFFERENT DUE TO SCHEDULE CONFLICTS!!! Have this schedule handy and make sure you set your alarms!
• ALL sectionals are from 7 - 8:15 AM.
• Communicate (via email) about any conflicts ASAP. Each ensemble only has about 8 rehearsals, so we need everyone present to maximize rehearsal time.
• I do NOT have our guest artist confirmed yet. We are still working on it. Once I have it in writing you will know and we will hand out Large Ensemble music.
