MCA Testing Schedule and Tips
Dear Basswood Families,
MCA testing season is quickly approaching and I want to review a few key details with you, including the Basswood Testing Calendar. We put this calendar together so you can be sure your student has the best opportunity to demonstrate their skills on testing days.
Here are a few more tips to ensure a smooth testing experience for your student. Please make sure your student:
- has their device and that it is fully charged on the day of testing
- has wired headphones at school during these testing windows
- gets a good night of sleep before testing dates
- eats a healthy breakfast on test mornings.
Finally, please make every effort to get your student to school on testing days and avoid pulling your child from school for appointments on these days.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
Steven Schwartz
Basswood Principal

Report Cards for Trimester II will be available starting on Wednesday, March 20, on your ParentVUE account. We will not be sending home a paper copy of report cards. Your student's report card can be found under the Document tab. If you need to sign up for ParentVUE or if you have forgotten your password, you can contact the BW office at 763-494-3858.
Basswood Family Night at the Minnesota Twins Game
Basswood has arranged to receive tickets for students and family members to attend a Minnesota Twins baseball game on Friday, May 3 at 7:10pm. Tickets cost $26 and are limited. Orders and payment must be returned no later than Thursday, April 4. A blue flyer went home to families this past Wednesday with the details.
4th grade Recorder Concert - DATE CHANGE
Please note that the Basswood School Calendar that was handed out at the beginning of this school year has the 4th grade Recorder Concert on the wrong date. The 4th grade Recorder Concert will take place on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30pm. Thank you!
Covid Guidelines
The District is still following the guidelines from MDH. Remember that it is a recommendation that students stay out with a positive test for five days and mask through day 10. Continue to follow the guidelines related to fever, vomiting (twice in 24 hours), and diarrhea, to stay home until free of these symptoms for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
If you have questions about whether to keep your student home, please contact Nurse Ashley at 763-315-7670 or ebneta@district279.org.
Thank you,
District Health Services
