National Coach Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on November 4th. It's a day to recognize the work of instructional coaches who help keep teachers at the top of their game. Ms. Rovira works extremely hard and we appreciate her.

CVPA Construction Projects
You may have heard that CVPA is under construction as we receive continued tuckpointing, new windows and work is beginning on a brand new cafeteria. Painting in the cafeteria will begin over the Thanksgiving break, but the majority of the cafeteria renovations will take place later this spring.
College Visits
College Visits are being added daily. Please check the morning announcements, the CVPA website or speak with Ms. Bernard for the most up-to-date schedule.
HBCU College Tour
CVPA students Nevaeh Harper, Jocelyn Turner, Rahjae Bracken, Arianna Lacey and Mikel Parham had the opportunity to tour Fisk University, Spelman College, Clark-Atlanta and Tennessee State University as part of SLPS's 1st HBC College Tour.
This tour was free of charge for our students and we were even able to provide them with gift bags with snacks and gift cards for all of their meals. There will be another HBCU tour in the spring.
Scholarship Money
To date, Seniors in the class of 2025 have reported almost $800,000 in merit based scholarships.

On Monday, November 18, CVPA students and staff wore yellow in honor of Alexandria Bell's birthday.

Arts Happenings
CVPA dancers advance to finals
A group of contemporary dancers have advanced to the finals of the St. Louis Teen Talent Competition at The Fabulous Foz Theatre. The group of Alexis Clark, Trent Hampton, Keith Brown, Daisha Leachman, Bryson Jones, and JaWae Bronner are performing to a song called "Adios" choreographed by CVPA volunteer Endia Moseley.
The finals will take place January 18th at the Fox.
CVPA Spirit Squad
CVPA has a new Spirit Squad. Their 1st performance was at the Performing Arts Day for prospective new students at CVPA. More information coming soon!
CVPA alumni Marquise Butcher, class of 2016
CVPA alumni, Marquise Butcher, class of 2016, recently signed with Empire Records.
He has many song placements right now, but most notably are the 5 songs in Beauty in Black playing on Netflix.
Auditions
Brent Ritter selected to Breakdown St. Louis Leadership Team
Congratulations to CVPA student Brent Ritter on being selected to Breakdown St. Louis.
The BreakDown STL Leadership Team is a group of high school and college age students who have been selected after going through an extensive audition process. Once selected they receive weekly character and leadership training while being raised up to be servant leaders and role models in the community. The BreakDown STL Leadership Team members then “give back” by being part of one of our community outreach programs: OnStage Presentation team, OffStage Peer Mobilizer team or Creative team.
