2025-2026 Registration
Both current SLPS students and new students must be registered for the 2025-2026 school year. If you are a CVPA student and have not yet registered for next year, please do so asap at slps.org/register.
24-25 Yearbooks on Sale
24-25 yearbooks are on sale now. The cost is $30. Yearbooks will be delivered before the end of the year. 12th grade students' yearbooks are included in their senior dues.
Administrative Professionals Day April 23
In recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, we want to recognize the incredible team of ladies who keep our school organized. Thank you Ms. Thomas, Ms. Smith, Ms. Turner and Ms. Williams!
National Assistant Principal Week
In recognition of National Assistant Principals Week, we want to recognize the best assistant principal in SLPS. Please join us in thanking Mr. Anselman for the variety of things he does everyday for the students and staff at CVPA.
Prom
Prom will be Friday, April 18th at the Chase Park Plaza from 7:00-10:00 PM.
EOC Testing begins April 28th
In Missouri, End-of-Course (EOC) tests are online assessments students must complete before graduating from a public high school, specifically in Algebra I, English II, Biology, and Government. Our EOC testing begins on April 28th and runs through May 9th. Please be sure that your student is well rested, eats a good breakfast and arrives on time for these tests.
Senior Dates
Seniors were given a document last week outlining important senior dates. Please talk with your senior about these dates. A copy of this is also posted on our website under "Senior Information". If you have any questions about any of these senior dates, please contact Mr. Anselman at perry.anselman@slps.org.
Camp SLPS 2025 General Information:
- Student Dates: June 2, 2025 – June 27, 2025 (19 days)
- Transportation available
- Free breakfast and lunch
- Tentative Bell Times: Elementary: 9:00am - 2:30pm | Middle & High School: 7:50am - 1:20pm
Who's Eligible
- All current and incoming St. Louis Public School students in grades PreK4 - 12th for the 2024-2025 school year
- Must be St. Louis City resident

CVPA Announces 2025 Fall Musical
The CVPA Arts Department has selected the 2025 Fall Musical: Dreamgirls. This sensational Broadway musical tells the story of a 1960s Supremes-like girl group that catches its big break during an amateur competition.
CVPA Awarded Runner-Up for 2025 Champions of Character Award
CVPA visual art students, under the direction of art teacher Evan Wagman are working in collaboration with Cardinal Glennon to complete a mural on the side of their building that faces CVPA. This project earned CVPA the runner-up award for the 2025 Champions of Character program. CVPA will get tickets to a game, a banner and representation on the field before a game.
2025 Famous African American Portrait Contest
Congratulations to Ronald Comage and Kaiylah Harris for winning cash prizes in the 2025 Famous African American portrait contest. These pieces of art are on display at the National Blues Museum.
Dance Recital

International Thespian Honor Society
CVPA will host our annual International Thespian Honor Society induction ceremony on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:00 PM.
The International Thespian Society, a division of EdTA, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students. Roughly 5,000 schools around the world have Thespian troupes. The Society’s mission is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. Students earn induction by participating in an affiliated school’s theatre program and accumulating points based on the quality and quantity of their work in theatre. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians
St. Louis Zoo Art Awards
Congratulations to the following art students who's work was selected for awards in the 2025 St. Louis Zoo Art Awards:

Senior Showcase
Our senior showcase will be May 7th. Seniors will audition in their arts classes to identify the top 3 in each art, who will perform at the Senior Showcase. Community judges will select the top artist in each of our 5 art majors who will perform at the graduation ceremony.
NHS Induction Ceremony
The National Honor Society Induction ceremony will be April 28th at 11:00 AM. If you have a student being inducted, we invite you to join us in the theatre for this special ceremony.
Membership in the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School Chapter of National Honor Society has been earned by these candidates through the effective demonstration of the four qualities that serve as standards for the Society scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Extra Curricular Calendar for April
The extra curricular calendar shows all activities offered after school on the days listed. If an activity is not listed, it is not offered. Students who stay after school for an approved activity are provided a bus home through the district transportation services, otherwise personally provided transportation should be here to pick them up no later than 5:15pm.
