Caps for California Spirit Day & Donation Drive: On Monday, February 3, students are invited to wear caps (and hats) as a show of support to children in California impacted by the wildfires. We're also collecting donations (suggested amount: $1-$5 per student) to donate to the Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund. Students may bring their donations to the office now until February break. On our spirit day, Deer Teams will be meeting to revisit our shared text, Boxes for Katje and writing notes of support to be shared with children impacted by the California wildfires.

Claim Lost & Found Items: Our lost and found is bursting with coats, sweatshirts, and other items that would love to be reunited with their owners. Please encourage your children to take a peek at the rack on the cafeteria stage. You are also welcome to come and retrieve any missing items during the school day. Please note that the PSO will be donating all remaining items the week before February break.

Cohasset Youth Theatre Spring Play: CYT will be producing the play, Aladdin, this spring. Registration flyers are coming home with students today. Rehearsals begin in February!

New Middle & High School Feasibility Study: The feasibility study for the potential new middle and high school building is entering its next phase where conceptual designs will be shared. You are invited to attend the next feasibility public forum on Tuesday, January 28th @ 6:30pm in the CMHS auditorium. Ai3, the district's architects, will be there to share several conceptual designs for a potential middle/high school project. These designs will fall into several categories: code upgrades only, addition/renovation, addition/demolition/renovation, and new construction. We hope you are able to attend -- these decisions will directly impact our current elementary school students who would potentially be the first to benefit from a new building.

Mystery Reader: Hugo returned to Deer Hill today and was so excited to join me as the Mystery Reader in Mrs. Frasier's class. We read Fuego's Feelings where we learned about the work of therapy dogs as well as how dogs show their feelings through their body language.
