Meadows Message from Mrs. Krz
December 6, 2024
Dear Meadows Community,
This past Tuesday we enjoyed an engaging assembly from the Viver Brasil Dance Company. The Viver Brasil performance was made possible from a directed grant to MBEF from the Siddhartha family to fund a variety of cultural experiences in our elementary schools for the next five years. Students enjoyed drumming, dancing, and stories from around the world. Students raved about the experience! Please be sure to check out the reel that I posted on our school Instagram account!
This week features our Gingerbread Decorating (for students who signed up) after school on Wednesday and Student Store during lunch on Thursday. It is also important to note that if your 4th or 5th grade child plans to ride an eBike to school, they must have been trained and the bike should have an MBUSD sticker on it. Please see details about this below.
Also, please remember that no watches with texting capability are allowed at school, even if the capability is turned off. Students who are wearing eWatches will be directed to take the watches off, turn them off, and put them in their backpacks.

Annual Adopt a Family Gift Drive - Please Help!
The holidays often bring to our attention that some are more fortunate to others in their ability to provide gifts to celebrate together. Every year we hold a gift drive for families who are currently living in a shelter near us to make their holidays a little brighter. Please consider "adopting" a family member by signing up in the link below. We will be delivering the gifts on 12/19.
We have more than 70 slots that have not been filled yet!
Please click here to sign up and get all the information you will need. It is our hope that you will be able to take advantage of any great sales during Thanksgiving Break. Thank you for helping to make the season brighter for any of these families in need!

E-bike Training for Students in Grade 4 and 5
Starting on December 9, if your child in grades 4 or 5 rides an e-bike to school, it must have the approved MBUSD-certified sticker displayed on their e-bike to be permitted to park on school grounds.
To receive this sticker, students must complete a District-approved e-bike certification course through E-Bike Sense or PedalAce. Without this certification, students will not be allowed to bring or park their e-bikes on campus, and any e-bike found without a sticker will be held for parent pick-up. Private course options remain available with E-Bike Sense (in-person) and PedalAce (online), and free District-sponsored classes will again be offered in January.
Here is the link to register privately for the in-person E-Bike Sense course. Please use the discount code MBUSD25 to receive a 25% discount available to MBUSD families.
Here is the link to register for the online PedalAce course. This course is offered at a 50% discount.
District-sponsored classes are still open for these grades from November 2 through December 9. If your student has already completed or will complete a private class through PedalAce and E-Bike Sense, please submit their certificate of completion to the front office as soon as possible. Once verified, a sticker will be issued to immediately be placed on the e-bike. Certificates will be cross-referenced with lists provided to the school by PedalAce and E-Bike Sense.
