Lunch with your Mustang - Monday through Thursday
Mustang Families, As promised, we are opening up the Mustang Cafe for your to visit with your K-5th Mustang during lunch! We love that so many of you want to visit. Thank you for making our cafeteria such a positive community environment!
Please remember the following when coming to visit your child during lunch:
- No adults without physical identification may enter the building. We cannot accept photos of identification.
- Adults who are not already approved to visit with the child such as parents and grandparents must receive preapproval by administration.
- We will only have lunch visitors from Monday - Thursday. Fridays are too busy for the front office staff due to numerous early dismissals.
- Please follow the directions of all Meadowland employees in the lunchroom, as they are there to provide a safe, clean, and secure cafeteria environment and maintain routines.
- Please sit at a table with your child(ren) in the back of the cafeteria. Sometimes you will be sitting with another Mustang and their family member. If the tables are full, please ask a Meadowland employee where to sit.
- Family members may sit with their child(ren) only during the lunch block and cannot invite other students.
- Families cannot give food, share food, or give money to children other than their own.
- No photographs or cell phone use may occur during lunch. Some families have requested no photographs and internet use for their children, and we need to honor this request in the cafeteria.
- Please enter and exit from the main office only.
- As always, bring concerns to Anna Purdy, Andrew Lynch, or Peggy Nieves and we will work to resolve them as soon as possible.
These procedures support the safety and security of all students and we appreciate your assistance!
In addition:
Teachers are unable to meet to discuss your Mustang during lunch drop off or pick up.
Families cannot escort children back to the classroom or join for recess without prior notice and approval by the classroom teacher and the principal.

We Need School Representatives
Minority Student Alliance Delegate
School delegates play an important role in achieving the mission, vision and goals of the committee. MSAAC relies on community volunteers to serve as delegates and alternates from each LCPS.
School delegates to MSAAC:
Attend MSAAC general body meetings and share the information and experience with their respective home schools.
Represent and advocate for the particular needs of minority students within your home school.
Comprise the body of voting MSAAC members for MSAAC board elections or bylaw amendments
We welcome your involvement!
Want to learn more? If you are interested in serving as your school’s delegate or alternate to MSAAC, please contact the MSAAC Vice Chair.
Delegate FAQ:
What does MSAAC expect from delegates/alternates before, during and after monthly meetings?
Liaison:
Get to know your home school. Talk with school principal and/or school administration about the topics discussed at MSAAC Membership meeting.
Share related school data or insights gathered from participation in PTA or PTSO and through conversations with teachers and parents.
Discuss school needs &/or concerns that should be shared at the next MSAAC Membership meeting.
Share ideas or propose new areas of focus that impact student learning and achievement.
Participate and Share:
Attend monthly MSAAC General Body meetings. Where Delegates ask questions, share ideas, suggest solutions and brainstorm with their cluster.
As a parent representative, Delegates are the eyes and ears of your school and as a result your insights and ideas are essential to the success of MSAAC.
LEAF Nominations
Would you like to make sure that Meadowland's concerns are heard at the district level?
Parents/Guardians who are interested in serving as the 2024-2025 LEAF representative should possess a desire to focus on engaging with the school administration and the PTO, as well as developing opportunities for two-way communication, through which learning, feedback and information sharing with positive outcomes for children are at the forefront. If applicable, check in with your PTA/PTO about their thoughts on nominations for next year. You can also visit www.lcps.org/leaf to learn more or chat with me about how your LEAF representative can support your school community.
Important Arrival and Dismissal Information
Families, please review our arrival and dismissal procedures and let us know if you have questions. Remember, we never recommend parking on Sugarland Drive and allowing student to enter and exit vehicles there. This creates a danger to students, families and other drivers.

Chronic Absenteeism: What is it and how can we avoid it?
Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing ten percent or more of the academic year for any reason, including excused absences, unexcused absences, and suspensions. Last year over 16% of Meadowland students were chronically absent! That is 120 students.
How can Mustang Families help with this growing problem?
Please send your Mustangs to school every day! Use the chart below to help!
We will be sharing this document for you to keep in a highly visible place. Share this document with your Mustang regularly. This will help them know and understand when they will be expected to go to school, and when they will have to stay home. Thank you for collaborating with us to have your child at school every day! Classes will be awarded for their efforts!
New to Loudoun County Public Schools?
Take a look at the LCPS Strategic Plan!
Here are the highlights of the plan, and you can read the full plan using the link below:
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is proud to have a Strategic Plan, One LCPS Strategic Plan for Excellence, to provide direction for our school division through 2027. The School Board approved the new strategic plan on June 28, 2022 to include the vision, mission, core values, goals, aligned actions, and strategies.
Our students are at the center of all we do. The vision, mission and core values not only guide our work with students, but they are also the pillars of what we imagine for our students:
- LCPS Vision: Every student will reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
- LCPS Mission: Empowering all students to make meaningful contributions to the world.
- LCPS Core Values:
- HOLISTIC SUPPORT: Every student should have the support to feel safe, happy, and cared for in school.
- EQUITY AND OPPORTUNITY: All students and staff should have access to resources, programs, and support that enable a successful future.
- TRUST THROUGH LISTENING: All students, staff, and community members should have regular opportunities to be heard in two-way conversations across the division.
- RIGOROUS TEACHING AND LEARNING: All students should be challenged to reach their full potential in the classroom as part of a system that aspires to become the best-performing division in the nation.
- INDIVIDUALIZED SUCCESS: All unique strengths, skills, and passions should be celebrated, encouraging diverse pathways that support readiness after graduation
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: A culture of continuous improvement should drive the fulfillment of our mission
As you explore the Strategic Plan, you will notice that we have four goals that are foundational in helping us achieve our mission and vision:
- Empowered Students
- Exemplary Staff
- Enriched Division
- Engaged Community
As One LCPS, our families, staff, division and community can work together to empower all students to make meaningful contributions to the world. It is our belief that every student can and will reach their full potential and achieve their dreams through our collective and collaborative efforts.
