Meet the Teacher
Save the date for Meet the Teacher! Stop by the school on Tuesday, August 6th between 4pm & 6pm to check out your child's classroom and do a quick meet and greet with teachers. Teachers will reach out to you with your student's homeroom assignment on August 5th.
Restructuring
Instructional leadership is crucial to the success of teaching and learning. This is one of Mrs. Goldsworthy's strengths, and she believes in building a strong leadership team that will support our educators and families and students within specific grade levels.
We are restructuring our dean roles to better serve our school community. Our current dean, Danette Hall, will be transitioning her focus to our upper grade levels as the Upper Division Dean (4th-8th grade). Mary Kate Tener is rising to the role of Lower Division Dean (Preschool-3rd grade). Ruthie Herber is continuing part time with a focus on her specialty (school psychology) as Dean of Special Services.
We are restructuring classes upstairs in 5th-8th grade starting this school year. We are bringing 5th grade science and math into the middle school schedule, yet 5th graders will retain a primary homeroom teacher for all other subjects. This mobility will prepare them for middle school. Our archdiocesan core subject areas are grouped into humanities and sciences. Our goal is to create flexible student groups (vs fixed class sections) within the schedule where humanities/sciences subject teachers can tailor learning to maximize student potential. 5th - 8th grade families will learn more about this schedule on parent curriculum night.

Band/Strings Programs at CSSE
We are gauging interest for Band (5th grade and up) or Violin (3rd grade and up). Please complete this survey by July 25th if your student is interested. If we have enough interest and the schedule allows, students may register to attend Band or Violin instead of the normal Music class for an additional fee. Instruments and materials will be available for rent, or you may purchase on your own. Students will commit to a full semester of their chosen program. If we have enough interest, we will arrange an info meeting with music instructors for interested parents and students prior to the start of the program. Stay tuned!
School Supplies
As a reminder, the $125 school supply fee will be billed through FACTS on August 15th. While this fee covers most classroom items, there are just a few items left that families will need to purchase and provide. See linked list.
Back to School Packet
We will be emailing a link to our Back to School Packet, which contains procedures and forms we need from your family before the start of the school year. Please make sure you check your email on August 1st, and have your forms printed and filled out to return at Meet the Teacher on August 6th.
Extended Care Program
Our extended care program is for parents and guardians who need before/after school care for their students because of their work schedules. For families who need before or after school care, please print or save a copy of the registration form, fill out, and email to extendedcare@steugeneschool.org OR printed copy to the school office August 6th. We reserve the right to cap the program due to staffing and facilities availability. Please note - no aftercare on the first day of school.

PTO is gearing up for the Eagle Run on the morning of September 7th! This fun event is one of the biggest fundraisers for our PTO, and proceeds go right back into our school!
