Clark Weekly News (9/13/24)
Growing Together
A note from your Principal
This was quite a week! We appreciate the parents who came to conferences to discuss strategies for success for their students. Remember, we are able to accommodate conferences outside of a specified night as needed. We welcomed several guests from the community who came to inspire and help our youth cultivate knowledge, kindness, and community. We even welcomed the state safety inspector as well as the food services/kitchen inspector! There were no concerns reported by either, so we are very proud that we continue to meet all standards of excellence across the board. This is only possible because of an amazing team of students, staff, and supportive families!
In gratitude always,
Dr. Judd

Safety reminder- p. 14 of our handbook states, "Headphones/ear buds must be used by any student playing audio within the common areas. For safety reasons, only 1 earbud may be used." We have given several warnings, but ongoing defiance with this will lead to referrals and consequences, including confiscation.

We are grateful to Judge Roberts for sharing with our students about the Constitution as well as the elections process. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Frangella from MCSD for sharing his story as a 9/11 First Responder. Both of these speakers were incredibly impactful. We also appreciate how respectful our students were throughout our monthly assembly.

Weekly Tidbits- 9/2-9/6
Today is Make a Difference Monday- The biggest way you can make a difference in the world is to be kind and make sure everyone feels included. Have you seen someone sitting alone? Maybe go and introduce yourself. Walking through the hallways or in public, a friendly smile and a “good morning” or “good afternoon” can totally improve a person’s mood no matter what age. What can you do to show kindness today?
Today is Take Care Tuesday. Did you know September has been designated as Suicide Prevention month? Today’s tip is for taking care of your mental health. Sometimes something as simple as taking a walk, going for a run, or dancing wildly to your favorite upbeat songs can change your mood for the better. Give it a try next time you are feeling a little down.
Today is Way to Go Wednesday and we are shouting out three students who were very helpful to Dr. Judd over the past week when she had her hands full. Thanks to Wrigley and Luke Schwartz and Jonah McCrory. Your willingness to lend a helping hand is greatly appreciated!
Today is Think About it Thursday. Yesterday we learned about the pillar of trustworthiness. Think about your friends here at Clark. Who would you nominate for this Character pillar? Are you a trustworthy person? Could you make better choices to be more trustworthy?
Fact Friday- no announcements- testing.

Communication- we rely heavily on email. Students will always receive Clark info to the Clark email address. Parents/ guardians- If you want a different email than the one this came to, email ljudd@irsc.edu and CC kfarias1@irsc.edu and we will try to get all systems updated. If someone in your life should be added, please also email us.
Bathroom reminder: We need to be careful what, and how much at once, we are flushing down the toilets. Please remember: No Paper towels, No garbage, No feminine hygiene products (at all).
If you need “a certain amount” of toilet paper, that is fine. But flush between use, so that the amount of toilet paper does not clog the plumbing. We have two significant clogs this week. Last year we had to close a stall for quite some time to fix the issue. We’d like to avoid that.
Clark shirts and hoodies still available! See attached form at end of newsletter or printed copies in the rack by the front desk. Don't miss out on these awesome dri-fit and cotton shirts and hoodies!
