PTO News
Message from the PTO President
Happy Friday Dolphins,
I would like to thank everyone who answered the call to volunteer today at both the gardening day and tonight's Ice Cream Social! A huge thank you to our gardening coordinator extraordinaire Anne Erickson and our PTO Hospitality co-chairs Ruth Facer and Sarah Stanton who have all gone above and beyond to ensure these events are fun and engaging for our Dolphin Community! I hope to see you all tonight at the Ice Cream Social!
Here are a few ways that the Dicken PTO has used the funds we've raised this year to help our school this week:
- The PTO paid for an end of year Student Lighthouse Team celebration for our 1st, 2nd and 5th students yesterday & will have one for the 3rd & 4th graders next week.
- The PTO approved the purchase of additional "Home of a Dicken Dolphin" yard signs that will be available to all families starting this summer. Originally purchased in the fall of 2020 during virtual school, these yard signs help us display our Dicken pride throughout our neighborhood!
- The PTO is providing all the treats and prizes for tonight's Ice Cream Social to our Dicken community as a thank you for all the generosity and support the parents have shown our PTO and students this year!
- The PTO purchased healthy snacks for the staff lounge and students.
- A few more surprises and year end celebrations are in the works as well, so keep your eye out for special ways that we will be celebrating our teachers, staff and students in the upcoming weeks.
If you have had any thoughts about wanting to be more involved in the Dicken community, this would be a great time of year to consider volunteering to be on the PTO board or on one of the event committees. We are specifically looking for someone to lead the planning for the Pumpkin Patch, which takes place at the end of October and next spring's Ice Cream Social. We also still have PTO Board openings for next year which include the Hospitality Team, President-Elect and Fundraising Chair.
Hope to see you tonight at the Ice Cream Social and/or Sunday night at the Teacher and Parents Night Out at Pretzel Bell!
Hallie
