Notes from the Nurse- Healthy Habits
Good Shepherd is beginning to see an uptick in illnesses at school. Many students are contracting respiratory infections in addition to other viral illnesses.
The best way to prevent illness is by WASHING HANDS! Please encourage your children to wash their hands frequently using proper technique (or use hand sanitizer) and to keep their hands away from their faces. You will be amazed by the reduction of illness in your house if the entire family follows this!
In addition, please remind and encourage your children to practice good hygiene habits:
Cover mouth and nose completely when sneezing or coughing
Wash your hands properly after sneezing, coughing, or blowing your nose
Keep hands off of the face
Please refer to the latest CDC guidance regarding respiratory viruses (including COVID-19, influenza, and RSV): CDC Information
