Celebration Day (New)
Mock Admissions Workshop (New)
When: Tuesday, May 6th, 6:30 pm
Where: Lakes Auditorium
Who: 9th- 1th graders and Families
Have you ever wondered how colleges decide who to admit? Would you like to experience reviewing an application for admission? Please join us for an evening with college representatives as they guide you through an application review. This is an excellent opportunity to walk step by step through all the stages of reviewing an application. How are transcripts looked at? How do letters of recommendation help? Do admission offers vary based on institutional needs? For the evening, you will be working for a fictional university and reviewing the applications of 3-4 prospective students. By the end of the evening, your job is to make recommendations on who to admit, waitlist, and deny. This will help you understand how colleges and universities look at students and how decisions are made.
Celebrating the Class of 2025 (New)
We are excited to celebrate the class of 2025 and their lives after Lakes! This year’s celebration will be in conjunction with the senior ABC countdown and letter T, "tell us your future plans," as well as the Lakes Celebration Day at large. We will be celebrating during all lunch periods on Friday, May 2nd outside of the main entrance.
Seniors will enjoy a cupcake, a photobooth, and space to write thank you notes to faculty/staff that have been important to them during their time at Lakes.
We encourage seniors to wear a shirt that day that displays their post-high school plan (i.e. college, trade, work force, military, etc).
Are You Cum Laude? (New)
Semester 2, Checkpoint 2 has been posted as of 4/17/2025. Check your complete Cum Laude status in Infinite Campus, as well as an email that will be sent to all the Seniors and Parents/Guardians. If you are short in 1 criteria, consider filing an appeal which is due 4/25/25.
Senior Honors Night - Recognition for Outside/Institutional Scholarships (New)
As part of our upcoming Senior Honors Night on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m., we would like to recognize students who have received scholarships from either the college or university they plan to attend (institutional scholarships) or from an outside organization.
Institutional scholarships are awards granted directly by a college or university—often based on academic achievement, leadership, talent, or other criteria. Outside scholarships are those awarded by organizations not affiliated with the student’s school or college. Both types are eligible for recognition.
If your student would like to be recognized, they must complete the following form themselves (responses can only be submitted through their school account): Link to Google Form

National Merit Scholarship Program (Week 2)
Eight Seniors Receive National Merit Recognition
Lakes Community High School is proud to announce that senior Blake Salbilla has been named a National Merit Finalist. Fewer than 0.5% of high school graduates in the class of 2025 have received this recognition. This achievement highlights exceptional academic ability and a commitment to excellence.
In addition to this outstanding honor, we also want to recognize seven of our seniors who have been named National Merit Commended Scholars for their remarkable academic achievements.
These distinctions reflect not only academic excellence but also an outstanding score on the PSAT/NMSQT, rigorous coursework, and a dedication to scholastic achievement.
National Merit Commended Scholars:
Sean Crevier
Holly Driscoll
Ammaar Fuad
Maverick Kucia
Adam Paxton
Reilly Shea
Kris Tenoso
These students have demonstrated excellence in the classroom. We are excited to see where their academic journeys take them and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
Congratulations once again to our National Merit Finalist and National Merit Commended Scholars! Your hard work and achievements are a testament to your dedication, and we are incredibly proud to have you as part of our school community.
