Message from the Principal
Dear CETC Community,
It's hard to believe that May is already upon us, signaling the near end of another school year. May has always been a month for celebrating growth and reflecting on the memories created throughout the school year. We're incredibly proud of all that our students have accomplished, and as we approach the final stretch, we want to ensure that the remaining days are filled with greatness for our students, especially our talented Seniors!
In this month's newsletter, I encourage you to read the feature on our exceptional Agriculture Sciences Program. Our students and staff have been working hard to cultivate success, and I'm excited for you to learn more about their program and remarkable achievements.
Additionally, our annual plant sale is happening. It's an excellent opportunity to support our students and bring home some beautiful additions to your garden.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making CETC the best place to be!
Sincerely,
ToniJo Niccoli
Principal

Farm to School Students
Our Agricultural Sciences Program and FFA Chapter are proud participants of the Farm to School Program. This program has had a profound impact on students in grades Pk-8 across the school district. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our student mentors, younger students have been able to participate in engaging sessions on soil health and pollinators, as well as plant and prepare produce. Additionally, our student mentors have created tailored lessons to support students with gaining hands-on educational experiences that ignite their passion for agriculture and deepen their understanding of where their food comes from. We want to recognize three outstanding students, Alyssa Lovato, Kate Spellman, and Anna Davidson, for their exceptional dedication, passion, and leadership. Through their commitment, they are inspiring younger students, making an impact and setting a great example for others to follow.
Agricultural Sciences
Agricultural education is for students desiring to learn about the science, business, and technology of plant and animal production; preparing students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources systems. Through agricultural education, students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth, and career success. Instruction is delivered through three major components: classroom/laboratory instruction (contextual learning), Supervised Agricultural Experience programs (work-based learning), and the student leadership organization (National FFA Organization).
Meet the Teachers
Lauren Hart
I’m Lauren Hart and I’ve been teaching for 18 years, 15 of them here at the Career Elevation and Technology Center. This year I am teaching Advanced Agriscience, Agribusiness, and Greenhouse 1 and 2. I also serve as a co-FFA Advisor, with Ms. Pennock. I have two sons who also attend SVVSD schools. We enjoy raising livestock, camping, and spending time with our friends and family. My passions are in agriculture communication and leadership and in seeing students develop and pursue their own potential and happiness. One thing I love about teaching at the Career Elevation and Technology Center is the community built of students from all over our school district with similar interests and passions, but with a huge variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Rebecca Pennock
I'm Rebecca Pennock, and this is my first year teaching at the Career Elevation and Technology Center. I teach in the Agricultural Sciences Pathway: Intro to Agriscience, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Equine Science, and Advanced Agriscience. One thing I enjoy about working at CETC is the opportunity to build a community with my students. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, fishing, and skiing. I also like to cook, bake, and spend time with my miniature dachshund, Wendy.
