High School Final Exams
Dear NEAAAT Family,
With all of us working together to provide the best possible school year for our students, we would like to share some important information with you regarding state-mandated testing and NEAAAT final exams for this fall.
All high school students are required to complete a final exam for each course they are enrolled in. Students enrolled in Biology, English II, Math I, and Math III will take a state End of Course (EOC) Assessment.
Students enrolled in courses without an EOC assessment will complete a final end-of-the-year evaluation that will count as their final exam grade.
Please be reminded that NEAAAT board policies and NC state statutes require coaches to factor EOC grades as 20% of the student’s final grade for a course. Additionally, NEAAAT Board policy requires all students to take the final assessment for each course they are enrolled in for credit.
Below is the fall semester's final exam and testing schedule. Students are expected to follow this exam schedule, and all final exams should be completed on the assigned dates of December 15 - December 19. Students who do not complete their final assessment will not receive credit for that course. Students who have a conflict with the exam schedule will need to contact Leah Lane, Principal, for approval by December 1.
Please make sure that your student arrives BEFORE 8:15 so the testing session can start on time. Students are required to stay for the entire testing session and will not be allowed to check out early unless the entire school testing session has been completed. Please ensure your child sleeps well and eats breakfast at home or school before testing begins.
We want to ensure that each student has the opportunity to show what they have learned and how they have grown academically during this school year. If you have any questions regarding fall testing, please contact Caren Williams, Director of Testing & Accountability, at carenwilliams@northeastacademy.org or me at leahlane@northeastacademy.org.
Sincerely,
Leah Lane, Principal

School Pictures Are Ready! USE PIKMYKID number!
Good news!
All portrait sessions are ready for review. The emails from Josten's will say to use your student powerschool number, however due to a change in NC state law, we are unable to provide 3rd party organizations with that information. We used pikmykid numbers. If you are unaware of your student's pikmykid number please contact Karrie Chappell.

JOIN OUR NEAAAT BUSINESS ALLIANCE!
The work-based experiences made possible through our Business Alliance Partnerships are already helping us to achieve our vision of being a model for teaching and learning and a leader in the movement to ensure that all children have equitable access to a high quality education.
We’re currently seeking opportunities to build stronger connections with our Business Alliance partners. We’re pleased to announce that we will be growing our internship program this year, and we’re currently looking for employers who are willing to welcome 1 or more students to complete 80 hours or more of on-site work. Other opportunities will include guest speaking in our classrooms, judging projects, providing student feedback on public speaking events, and partnering with our coaches to create lessons that allow our students to explore what we call “the real world of work”.
