BHS Happenings

The College Fair at BHS was a great success! BHS students were able to engage with representatives from colleges all over the nation. This was a great opportunity for our underclassmen to familiarize themselves with the college process and for our seniors to finalize their list of colleges they want to apply to. Thank you to our guidance department for putting on such a wonderful event!

Next week is a busy week at BHS! We will have picture day on Tuesday and PSAT/SAT day on Wednesday. Please make sure that your child is prepared for both days.

The week of October 28th through November 1st will be Spirit Week. Stay tuned for more details on the daily themes for the week.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held October 30 -31, 2024 . This is a great opportunity to conference with your child's teachers at the end of Quarter 1. Below is the schedule for conferences:

• October 30th: 12:45 - 2:50 p.m.
• October 30th: 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.
• October 31st: 12:45 - 2:50 p.m.

Conferences will be in person, but we ask all parents to register for their time slots on My Conference Time, so teachers can better prepare to discuss your child. If you need for your conference to be virtual, please reach out to the teacher prior to your scheduled conference to make arrangements for a virtual option. You can schedule meetings with all of your child's teachers or just select ones. Time Slots for conferences are ten minutes. Parents who do not register on My Conference Time, will have to wait for an available slot to conference, as those previously scheduled will take priority. My Conference Time will be open for sign ups on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 a.m.

School Picture Day will be on October 22, 2024. All students will have their picture taken during their English class on that day. A student must have their picture taken in order to receive an updated Student ID. Picture Retake Day will take place on December 3, 2024, should your child be absent from school on Picture Day.

PSAT/SAT Day is approaching fast! All BHS students will be testing on October 23, 2024. Students will be taking the following tests based on grade:

• 9th Grade: PSAT 8/9
• 10th Grade: PSAT NMSQT
• 11th Grade: PSAT NMSQT
• 12th Grade: SAT

All students will take their regular bus to school on that day. Students will be dropped off following the late bus routes, which are attached below for your review. Students will be released from school following testing. Most students will be released at 11:00 a.m. on this day. Students needing accommodations will be released at 12:00 or 2:00 p.m.

All tests are computer based and students will need their school issued laptop to test. Please make sure your students device is charged and ready to go on test day.

Girls Soccer:

• On Monday, October 7th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team fell to Rocky Hill, 0-5.
• On Friday, October 11th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team fell to South Windsor, 0-4.
• On Wednesday, October 16th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team fell to Wethersfield, 0-4.
• On Thursday, October 17th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team tied New Britain, 1-1. The goal for the Warhawks was scored by Indya Norman.

Boys Soccer:

• On Monday, October 7th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team fell to Rocky Hill, 2-10. Goals for the Warhawks were scored by Demarco Harris and Nathaniel Williams.
• On Wednesday, October 16th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team fell to Wethersfield, 1-9. The goal for the Warhawks was scored by Ramone Cunningham.

Girls Volleyball:

• On Monday, October 7th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Manchester, 0-3.
• On Tuesday, October 8th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Rocky Hill, 1-3.
• On Wednesday, October 9th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Aerospace, 1-3.
• On Friday, October 11th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Wethersfield, 0-3.
• On Tuesday, October 15th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to New Britain, 0-3.
• On Wednesday, October 16th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to East Catholic, 1-3.

Boys Cross Country:

• On Tuesday, October 15th, BHS' Varsity Boys Cross Country Team competed in the CCC Championship. The boys finished 7th in the CCC North division. The top finisher for the boys was Charles Fennell.

Girls Cross Country:

• On Tuesday, October 15th, BHS' Varsity Girls Cross Country Team competed in the CCC Championship. The girls finished 4th in the CCC North division. The top finisher for the girls was Vanessa Agyemang.

Football:

• Please come out and support the Varsity Football Team tonight at 6:30 p.m. as they take on East Catholic High School at home. The game has been selected as Game of the Week by the CIAC and WFSB and will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.
