Dear Parents,
Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, unity, and appreciation, and we are truly grateful to have such a wonderful community of students and families here at Athens Middle/High School.
Our school is a place of learning, growth, and support, and it's because of the collective efforts of our dedicated teachers, staff, students, and you, our parents, that we continue to thrive. We are privileged to witness the accomplishments and aspirations of our students every day, and we are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their journey.
As you gather with your loved ones to celebrate this Thanksgiving, may your hearts be filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and the blessings of togetherness.
With warm regards,
Juli Gauerke-Peter

When is My Child Too Sick to Go to School?
This is not always an easy question to answer. We hope that these tips will help!
It is best practice that you not send your child to school if he/she has:
β Fever in past 24 hours
β Vomiting in past 24 hours
β Diarrhea in past 24 hours
β Chills
β Sore throat
β Strep Throat (must have been taking antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school)
β Bad cold with a very runny nose or bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night
If your child becomes ill at school and the teacher or health office feels the child is too
sick to benefit from school or is contagious to other children, you will be called to come and take him/her home from school. It is essential that your childβs school have a phone number where you can be contacted during the day and an emergency number in the event that you cannot be reached.
Please be sure that arrangements can be made to transport your child home from school.
If your daytime or emergency number changes during the year, please notify the school immediately.
Please call your schoolβs health office if you have any questions or concerns.
