COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. 9th GRADE UPDATES
Student Services Department / 9th to 10th Grade Program Planning
Homebase for all things program planning!
- 9th grade is currently involved in Program Planning for next year. On Friday, Jan. 3rd, Student Services presented an overview of the process, went over important dates, and handed out copies of the CB Course Catalog. On Thursday, Jan. 9th, students were invited to attend the Curriculum Fair at East to find out more about the course offerings for next year. On Friday, Jan. 10th, students brought their Course Recommendation sheet to each of their classes, where individual teachers signed off on their placement for next year. The rest of the process is detailed below:
8th GRADE UPDATES
A group of 8th grade students completed a service learning project to benefit The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) before break. They wrapped utensils that will be distributed with meals to the community over the winter.
7th GRADE UPDATES
Team 7-0 continued its Victory Cup competitions with a dodgeball tournament. Team Dufresne's I & E defeated Team Madden's I & E in the final round. Tying for 3rd place were Team Rickert and Team Willard. Team Madden is in the lead overall with a three-way tie for second among Team Ambrosini, Team Dufresne, and Team Rickert.
Team 7-2's most recent installment of The Games ended with another Team Hilbert victory! They are unstoppable! The teams competed in a silent matching game where each I&E had 30 cards facedown and had to find the matches without talking to each other. Places were determined based on the speed in which each I&E finished.
We're coming for you, Team Hilbert!
Congrats to January Lock Screen Winner, Next Round of Submissions Due 1/20
Congrats to Holicong 8th grader Sulan Shi for winning the January round of CBSD's lock screen contest! Students can now try their hand in the next round of the contest, inspired the "Balanced Individuals" attribute. Submissions are due Jan. 20. View more details and a video highlighting the Balanced Individuals attribute.
Community Town Halls on Future of Doyle, Kutz and Linden
All CBSD community members are invited to town hall meetings where members of district administration will share information and gather feedback regarding the future of Doyle, Kutz and Linden Elementary schools, with the goal of the School Board deciding on a plan to address the capital needs at these schools in May 2025. The town halls will take place on Jan. 30 at CB West; Feb. 27 at CB East; and March 27 at CB South, all beginning at 7 p.m. Learn more and submit comments or questions.
Please Remember to Pay Lunch Balances
Many students across the district currently have negative balances in their lunch accounts. We ask all parents and guardians to please check their MySchoolBucks account to view their balance and, if negative, to please make a payment. Even if you pack a lunch for your child(ren), they still may be purchasing cafeteria items.
To make a payment: Log in to MySchoolBucks and click MAKE A PAYMENT. Click CAFETERIA MEAL PAYMENT. Select or enter a payment amount. Click ADD TO BASKET. Click CHECK OUT NOW to complete the payment process.
For complete instructions on how to use your MySchoolBucks account, go to http://learnmyschoolbucks.com/Parent. You can also use MSB to monitor what your student is purchasing for breakfast and lunch and check your child(ren)'s account balance(s). If you have questions or concerns related to your child(ren)’s account(s), please call the Aramark Food Services office at 267-893-5758.
