Helping Hands Important Information
Dear North Oakview Families,
The PTC, along with the staff at North Oakview, would like to share some important information with you regarding our Helping Hands Project for this year. This project has helped to provide opportunities for our students and their families to give back to those in need within our school during the holiday season.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the Helping Hands Project this year and recognize that some families will still need this type of support over the holidays. Thankfully, there are many amazing resources that are available within our community.
Heart of West Michigan United Way The home of the 2-1-1 database where you can get connected to resources for food, shelter, utility assistance, disaster recovery, childcare, transportation, and more. If your family needs holiday food baskets or gifts for children ages 0-18, please contact 2-1-1 to obtain this information.
Dial 2-1-1 from a landline. Dial 1-800-888-1107 from a cell phone. Text your zip code to 898211* Chat with a 2-1-1 operator. Go to the website to search for resources on your own.
Health Net of West Michigan Resource navigation for basic needs as well as early childhood resources, behavioral health support, health coverage, dental coverage, and more. Call 616-726-8204.
Frontline Church Essentials Store Wonderful resource to support families in need of household supplies, personal hygiene items, baby items, diapers, and more. Visit the website for store hours and location.

Lunchroom Help Sign Up
If you would like to help out in your child's school, here is a sign up where you can get a chance help out in the lunchroom. Also, please fill out a Volunteer form. Please see the button below.
Mileage Club
Mileage Club is an extra activity that will be available to students outside during lunch recess times!
Club will begin on Monday, September 18 and will continue until the snow falls this winter (roughly around Thanksgiving) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during lunch recess times. This is an activity that aligns with the district belonging, access, and equity efforts that provide opportunities to all students!
To make this club possible to all 1st through 4th grade students, I am in need of parent volunteers. As a mileage club volunteer, you would be responsible for helping students find their cards, punch cards as students complete laps, hand out toe token prizes, and create new cards for students. I can take up to 5 volunteers per session per day (potential total of 10 per day). If you are interested in being a volunteer, you will need to do the following:
1. Complete the online Northview Volunteer Form found here:
If you have already filled out a volunteer form this 23-24 school year then you do not need to fill out another one. We just need one once a school year.
2. Send an email to hborgman@nvps.net to let me know you are interested in being a mileage club volunteer and have completed the online volunteer form.
3. Sign up for your available dates and times using the Sign Up Genuis found here:
This club isn't possible without your support! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me using my email listed above under step 2.
Thank you so much! GO WILDCATS!
Nurse's Corner
Students should stay home from school if they have a fever (temperature above 100.4 F) by any method and a change in behavior or other signs and symptoms (such as a sore throat, rash, vomiting or diarrhea). Students may return to school when fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
Parent Volunteers
If you are interested in helping in the building this year or attending any field trips, please complete the Volunteer Consent Form. You only need to fill this form out once a school year.
