April 2025
A Note From the Principal
Hey SIS Families-
Spring is here and it is so nice to have the sunshine and warner weather to enjoy and bring a fresh take on the day! Students are approaching ISASP testing. I've enjoyed visiting each classroom over the course of the last week to give students a pep talk on the power of thinking positively about our opportunity to show off all we have learned in the last year. Please carefully review the calendar for testing dates. Attendance is so important throughout the year but especially at this time. Thank you, in advance, for helping us get students to school on time and ready to test.
We have a lot coming up in the next couple of months. Please check and double check the calendar for all the things that are coming! With so much happening, you can anticipate us sending more emails than normal to ensure strong communication on all the preparation and day of experiences.
We look forward to a strong spring of learning and active engagement!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Holtz

SIS Battle of the Books
4th & 5th grade students will participate in a Battle of the Books competition on May 16th. The Battle of the Books is an exciting competition where 4th and 5th grade classes read 15 selected book titles and compete by answering questions about plot details, characters, settings, and themes. Students work collaboratively within their classes, dividing reading responsibilities to ensure all books are covered. This friendly competition promotes reading enjoyment, comprehension skills, teamwork, and exploration of diverse literary genres while motivating students to engage deeply with books. Be sure to check with your child on what book he/she is reading and encourage him/her to read as many as possible to prepare!
