Heards Ferry Families -
Here at HFE and Fulton County Schools, we truly value the feedback from our parents about their experiences with our school and the district. That is why I encourage all parents to take the Annual Parent Perception Survey. This survey allows parents the opportunity to tell us what they think about their student’s school and the district. Last year, only 39% of our families took the Annual Perception Survey. With anything over 50% considered reliable data, we are pushing for 100% of our families to help us better our school and take the survey.
The survey is anonymous and confidential. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled. The survey will remain open from Wednesday, October 16 through Friday, November 22.
It’s not only parents we want to hear from. Our students’ opinions are important too! Students in grades 3-12 will be provided with the opportunity to take the Annual Student Perception Survey on Monday, October 28 during the school day. In our ongoing efforts to remain transparent with parents, please take a moment to review the grades 3-5 student survey. The grades 6-12 Student Survey is also available if you have older students.
The Annual Perception Survey is currently available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindi, and Punjabi. If you or your family would like to take it in a language that is not listed, please email your child’s principal.
The parent FAQ is now available in:

News from Ms. Dunagan
Tardy Students
This is just a reminder that students are considered tardy if they are not in class before the 2nd bell rings at 7:40. If you are still in the carpool line when the 2nd bell rings, you will need to park your car and walk your child into school to sign them in at the Checkmate Kiosk.
Thank you

IB Updates
Cookies For Character
The Learner Profile attribute for November is reflective. This year, teaching our students the difference between recall and reflection is a goal for our IB program. Teachers have been modeling how to reflect through “I used to think, Now I think” routines, and students are starting to understand what reflection really means! Recall is simply the retelling of an event, but reflection is explaining how their thinking has changed. So, please help us reinforce this skill at home by modeling how you’re thinking changes when the opportunity arises!
International Inquirer Program
Your students will be researching a famous person from their country of study who has made a positive impact on the world. Make sure you have asked your child what country they are studying in case you can help make connections at home!
