Summer Is On Its Way
The senior class of 2024 is down to its final four days of school. Their last day with us will be this Friday, May 31st. We are so excited to celebrate them at graduation on June 7th. They have worked incredibly hard to get to this point. The underclassmen will be taking finals on June 5th and 6th. We want to thank all of the parents who have supported their children and the school along the way; this year and all years past. I think it was John C. Maxwell who said that teamwork makes the dream work!

Graduation Information
To parents of seniors: Please consider joining us for our graduation practice at 12:15 on Friday, May 31st. Seniors will walk out of the gym with their cap, gown, and earned diploma. We would ask that you stay to cheer on the seniors as they exit the school for one last time as a Hastings student.
Graduation - Inclement Weather Notification
In case of inclement weather on June 7th, we will communicate any change in location as soon as possible. Our goal is to notify the community at or before 11am. The indoor location is the gymnasium at the high school with overflow seating in the auditorium as needed.

April Rotary Student of the Month
Congratulations Michael Davis! On behalf of the Hastings Rotary Club and Hastings High School, congratulations on being selected as the April, 2024 recipient of the Hastings Rotary “Student of the Month” Award. The Hastings Rotary Club recognizes Hastings High School seniors who exemplify Rotary’s motto of ‘Service Above Self’, as a way to reward and foster these ideals, and also build mutually rewarding relationships between school administration, staff, students, parents and the Rotary members.
You were nominated by Ms.Jaci Hansey.
Here is what she had to say:
Mikey really works hard to show up at our events to volunteer but he also shows up at community events throughout the summer when he sees they need volunteers outside of what is required for his NHS hours. (I have seen him sporting a Rivertown Days volunteer shirt.) Our adults with disabilities program coordinator, Laurie Thrush, is the person who gave me the idea that he should be nominated. Mikey is so patient and kind with the participants in her program.
He just really stands out to us and we have enjoyed getting to know him over the past two years and watching him grow as a person.
You were selected as “Student of the Month” based upon the Student Selection Criterion:
The student selected should demonstrate some or all of the following attributes:
Gets involved in various school or other service related groups
Takes a leadership role among their peers
Diligently works to ensure success for themselves and others
Exemplifies the Rotary four-way test: “Of the things we think, say or do…
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
