📓 Friendly reminder, tomorrow, Thursday, 6/6, we will be celebrating our 1st Grade event, 'Crafty Creations' in the school cafeteria from 9am-10am. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher for additional details.

📓 The Flat Rate Program Application has opened for the next school year! The application window will close on October 1st. Only grades 1st-6th are eligible for the program. If you are interested in applying for the Flat Rate Program, please complete THIS FORM. If you are part of the program already, you do not need to apply for next year. All families who are part of the program already will carry over for next school year! CLICK HERE for more information about the program. Robots and Mentors Aftercare Program:
We are excited to introduce a NEW aftercare program for next year right here at Northwood Academy called Robots and Mentors!
This program will be for students in grades K-4. Take note, there a program cost of $60 Weekly. Take note, this will be an additional option to YouthCor.
Please see a full program description below.
"As your go-to aftercare provider, we offer a dynamic blend of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Movement) activities. Our program features organized sports, engaging art projects, dedicated homework assistance and personalized reading support. Through daily affirmations, motivational music, and curriculum-based videos, we guide students in designing, coding, and deploying simple machines and robots. We can't wait to embark on this educational journey with your child!"
Attached below is an interest form link. Once completed, we will send you information on a zoom town hall meeting where you can meet the Robots and Mentors leadership team and learn more about the program. This link will also pre-register your child. This program has a limited capacity so we urge you to complete the interest form as soon as possible.

Spring is here, and that means it’s time to take the Philly School Experience Survey, the annual survey for all Philly public school parents and guardians (THIS INCLUDES CHARTER SCHOOLS)!
Your thoughtful responses on this year’s survey will help us to improve communication with families and track our progress in improving school safety and climate.
The parent survey is completely anonymous, and you do not need a student ID number to take the survey. Just go to the link below, select your student’s grade level and school, and get started! The survey will take about 5-10 minutes. Click here to take the parent/guardian survey now!

Northwood Community Chess Club
Northwood Chess Club started last Friday, 6pm-8pm at Simpson Rec Center! Check out the Facebook group titled "Northwood Chess Club-2024"; for more information- this is a private group, but visible publicly, so you are able to search for it.
Heitzman Summer Basketball Camp 2024!
When: Monday - Friday, June 24-28
Time: 9AM – 3PM
Cost: $50 (must be paid in full at sign ups)
Ages: 6-12.
No child can be 13 before 6/24/24. 6 year old’s must have completed Kindergarten to attend camp.
Registration - Monday-Friday 3-8pm Space is limited. Contact us for more details!

What is Safe2Say Something?
Here’s how it works:
- Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system
- The crisis center reviews and processes all submissions
- The crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
- If needed, the crisis center may contact the tipster anonymously through the app

FAMILIES IN TRANSITION: NORTHWOOD IS HERE TO HELP
If you and your family lack fixed, regular, or adequate housing (for example, living in a shelter, transitional home, or even doubled-up with other people) due to loss of housing or economic hardship, you may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which ensures educational stability for students experiencing homelessness.
