Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a restful and rejuvenating Spring Break. We have now entered the final stretch of our school year, but there is still so much to do. We accomplished a lot in the month of March with completing our IREAD testing for all second and third grade students. We started our month by celebrating Read Across America week. Fun activities were planned throughout the week for all of the students. Mr. Gehring was kind enough to help us kick off the week by reading his favorite poem, Attitude, to all of our students. Our APPLES organization hosted an amazing carnival for our school and the community. I think everyone enjoyed a great evening filled with games, food, prizes, and awesome raffle baskets. Thank you to our APPLES volunteers for all of their hard work.
Looking ahead to April, we are entering our state testing season at the end of the month. More information from the classroom teachers will be coming home regarding testing dates and preparations. We also have field trips scheduled and a visit from the Playhouse in the Park.
As summer days and warmer weather draw nearer and our nights get busier with sports and outdoor activities, it can become difficult for students to maintain their focus on school work completion. Please remind your students to work hard and finish strong these last few weeks of school. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

With warmer weather coming, just a reminder about our school dress code. All shorts MUST be fingertip length or longer and all tank tops must have at least a two-inch wide shoulder strap. All violators of the dress code will be asked to change their clothes.

We kicked off a new program last month called the Vikings of Valor where we spotlight two students who display positive characteristics of honesty, work ethic, kindness, compassion, and integrity. The teachers choose one primary student and one intermediate student to receive the award each month. Winners receive a certificate, a trophy, and a Skyline gift card. Our Vikings of Valor for March were Claire Roberts and a 5th grade boy. Congratulations!!
