Mountain Springs Elementary

We have had a wonderful beginning to our new school year! Our staff worked hard over the summer to make this new school year the BEST learning experience possible for our students! Listed below are a few important facts. We hope by reviewing these facts, it will help to ensure that we have a great school year!

Important Facts:

*Mountain Springs first bell is at 7:50 a.m. with the tardy bell at 8:00. No child may be dropped off at school before 7:30 a.m. each morning. If your child arrives after 8:00, a parent will need to come inside and check-in the student.

* Our security procedures for entering the building are still in effect. Always be prepared to show identification when entering.

* Parents will be allowed to walk their child to their classroom during the first week of school. Starting Tuesday, August 27th, students will need to walk by themselves to class.

*Morning Drop Off: Please encourage your child to be ready for morning drop off. The student needs to have his/her backpack ready to exit the car as soon as the car has stopped. Students may open their own doors to exit the cars. We have been fortunate to have extra people out front helping to open car doors, but soon we will not have as many available.

* Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their child in our cafeteria. We have a designated area for parents and their student to eat together. Students are not allowed to ask their friends to eat with them at the parent table…only the guardian and their child may eat together. This ensures safety and avoids hurt feelings from other students. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

* Please follow MSE on social media and sign-up for our MSE Remind. These are great ways to keep up with current events and important notifications.

*DEADLINE to order "CLASS" t-shirts is September 6th.

REMIND is a digital tool allowing you to receive text message updates from our school. It is a quick way for our parents to stay connected and involved at MSE. You will receive reminders about events and be informed of any schedule changes. We have already had so many of our parents join our REMIND... We hope to have all of our parents join!

It is typical for us to deal with extreme heat the first few weeks of school. We will be utilizing the National Weather Service website in our determination to participate in activities such as outside recess. If the temperature is too hot for our students to go outside, we will have recess inside. This typically occurs during inclement weather—such as rain, snow, or extreme temperatures. During indoor recess, students engage in a variety of structured and unstructured activities within the classroom or designated indoor spaces. These activities can include board games, creative projects, reading time, and interactive games that foster social skills and teamwork. Our goal is to provide a fun and engaging environment that supports students' physical and social development, even when outdoor play is not possible. If you ever have any questions or concerns about the weather and indoor recess, please feel free to reach out to us.

Cabot spirit shirt order forms will be sent home with your child Monday, August 26th. If you are interested in ordering any of these shirts, please complete the form and return to your child's teacher or our office. Deadline is September 11th. Thanks!!!

Cabot Public Schools will be closed Monday, September 2nd to observe Labor Day! We will see you back Tuesday, September 3rd!

Thank you for sharing your child/children with us! We want Mountain Springs Elementary parents to be involved in your child's education.
