From the Principal
Dear Midland Families:
I want to stop to appreciate our Veterans! This week our school will recognize the work of our Veterans with an assembly on Friday. Teachers will also be teaching about our Veterans and the contributions they have made to our country.
Please know that in observance of Veterans' Day, there will not be school on Monday, November 11th.
On behalf of our Midland community, I want to extend our deep appreciation for all our military families. Thank you for your sacrificial service!
I hope you have a wonderful week!
💗 Ms. Frederick

Fall Picture Retake Day
Picture Retake Day will be Thursday, November 7th. If you are wanting your child’s pictures retaken, you MUST return the original pictures and packet that day. Students that did not get pictures taken previously will be photographed.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This is a reminder from the health room: if your student has borrowed any clothing this year, please ensure that it is returned with them. Our supply is limited, and we are running low on available clothing items.
Additionally, we kindly ask that you always send your student with an emergency pair of clothing in their backpack to help us preserve our supplies for urgent situations.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
School Arrival Reminder
Our main doors open at 8:40am for students to enter the building. Any students who arrive before this time MUST have an adult with them as we do not have staff supervising before 8:40am.
Also, if you would like to walk your child to class, you must drop-off before the 8:55am tardy bell. Once this bell rings, all visitors on campus must have a completed volunteer application on file AND a scheduled volunteer opportunity setup with a Midland teacher/staff member.
Thank you for helping us keep our students and staff as safe as possible!
We know that regular attendance is important to school success! Therefore, our School Improvement Plan has an attendance focus; we want more of our students to be here regularly. Missing 9 or fewer days in a school year is the district goal for students. As we approach the end of the 1st Trimester on November 29th, students who have missed 3 or fewer days are on track to meet this important goal. If your student has missed 6 or more days, they are at risk for being chronically absent. If there is something we can do to help, please let us know! We are here to help. Thank you for sharing your kids with us every day!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS....
If you are interested in volunteering as a chaperone for field trips or in any other capacity that may come up, please complete the volunteer application as soon as possible. It may take up to two weeks to process an application and we don't want you to be left out of a volunteer opportunity because you are not approved yet! Click here to begin your volunteer application. If you were cleared as a volunteer last year, please complete a new application. Volunteer applications must be completed every year.
PTO
What is PTO?
A PTO, which stands for "Parent Teacher Organization," is a group at your child's school where parents and teachers work together to improve the educational experience for all students by organizing fundraising events, providing extra supplies for classrooms, and/or planning special activities, essentially acting as a support system for the school beyond the regular curriculum; it's a great way to get involved in your child's school life and meet other parents in the community.
Our PTO board is:
President: Brianna Beacham
Treasurer: Quincey Crocram
Secretary: Kristina Frederick
Our next General PTO Meeting is: Monday, Nov. 4th at 3:45-4:30 pm
The next Popcorn Friday will be Nov. 22nd. Students can buy popcorn for .50 per bag.
We would LOVE to have more members join the PTO! Your membership ensures that you have a voice in what ways we impact Midland Elementary. Although we encourage volunteering (in different capacities), it is NOT a requirement!
If you have questions or concerns, or would like more information - you can email the PTO at midlandspto@gmail.com 😀
