Kindergarten and 8th Grade Promotion pictures & 8th Grade Panoramic Pictures will be taken on Tuesday, April 15.
The promotion pictures for Kindergarten and 8th-grade students are placed in a nice portfolio and given to the students on the last day of school. The portfolio picture is at no cost, however, you can order additional pictures from Pictures With Class. Order forms will be coming home, and they have your student's name on them.
This is a FREE DRESS in your BEST Dress for Success for Kindergarten and 8th grade only.
This is NOT blue jeans, casual free dress day. There are NO make-up pictures.
College & Career Fair
Attention McPherson Community. We will be having a College and Career Fair on Tuesday, April 22 from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. The date was changed. If you would like to be a presenter or a volunteer at the College and Career Fair, please complete the linked survey below at your earliest convenience. You can present or volunteer at the fair for the whole day or part of the day depending on your availability. TDAP REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS ENTERING 7TH GRADE STUDENTS
On July 1, 2011, California Assembly Bill 354 requires that all 7th grade students entering school for the 2025-26 school year will be required to provide proof of a Tdap (Pertussis) booster. This may be met by receiving this booster on or after your child's 7th birthday.
8TH GRADE PARENTS - PLEASE RESPOND
PLEASE RESPOND TO THE GOOGLE SHEET LINK BELOW - WE NEED THIS INFORMATION TO MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT'S RECORDS GO TO THE CORRECT SCHOOL. To help us with documents that will be sent to your student's high school, we will need to know where your student will be attending. If you know at this time, please fill out the following Google form so that we will know the exact school your student will be attending.
OUSD Drug Prevention Workshop
Get up-to-date information and strategies to guide your children toward healthy choices! Please open the attached flyer regarding a district-wide drug prevention presentation by OCDE.
This session will be held on April 22 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the OUSD District Board Rooms located at 1401 N. Handy Street, Orange.
ELAC Meeting Information
ELAC Meetings this year are scheduled for September 30, October 28, January 27, and April 28. Meetings review the resources available for all our English learners and ways to help support students in succeeding. All families are invited to attend.
Please join us at 8:15 AM in room 500 for ELAC.
FREE MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TUTORING
We are excited to offer math tutoring BEFORE school for all middle school students on Thursdays and Fridays (starting September 5). This is a great opportunity for students to get extra help with math assignments, prepare for tests, or simply improve their math skills. No sign-up necessary. These are drop in tutoring sessions.
When: Every Thursday & Friday morning from 7:15am to 8:00am (Starting September 5)
Where: Mr. Castro's Room #107
Who: Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student
Campus Volunteer Procedures
At McPherson, we value a partnership with parents and families and we want you to take an active role in your child's education. We do have an expectation that every family will contribute ten hours of volunteer time every year. There are many ways to volunteer throughout the year but if you intend to volunteer on campus during the year (classroom help, parties, field trips, etc) we must have you complete OUSD's volunteer application. You can complete this now and it will be good for the entire school year. The majority of our campus volunteers will be working 5 hours or less on campus so you will only need to complete the requirements listed under #1 and #2 on the links below. Please call the office if you have any questions regarding the volunteer application process.
