Week 3
Good Afternoon and Happy Feast of St. Augustine!
We are now in the 3rd week of school, and our routines are well-established. Our students are working hard in their classes, and our teachers are committed to helping them grow in all areas. A special thanks to Father Wood for delivering an inspiring session on the virtue of Chastity during our 3V program today. The 3V (Virtue, Vocation, & Vision) program has been a wonderful opportunity for our middle school students to explore their true vocations. We’re excited for more engaging speakers in the coming months!
Spirit Shirts Are In!
If you didn't get a spirit shirt at Back to School Night, the new order has arrived! Please email Mrs. Camacho at jcamacho@spnok.org to let her know what you need. She will charge your facts account and get the shirts to your child(ren). Adult sizes available for parents too! Spirit shirts at $10 each. Available sizes are: (YS, YM, YL, S, M, L, 2XL, 3XL).
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders
Please remember that drop-off and pick-up times are not ideal for discussing issues with teachers. Our teachers are focused on ensuring a safe transition for our students. While brief greetings and expressions of thanks are welcome, we ask that you refrain from calling teachers over to your vehicle. If you need to discuss something with a teacher, please contact them via email, phone, or schedule a meeting. This policy helps ensure the safety of both students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation!
St. Vincent de Paul Society
In honor of the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul on September 27th, we will begin collecting non-perishable food items next week to support our parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society. The grade that donates the most food will earn a pizza party on September 26th. Additionally, we will have an out-of-uniform day on Monday, September 9th, to support the Society. Students can dress out of uniform for a $2 donation, with all proceeds going directly to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Testing Updates
NWEA MAP Growth testing for grades 3-8 is going smoothly and should be completed by Friday. Next week, students in grades K-2 will take the Renaissance Early Literacy and Math tests.
Hallow App Partnership
We have sent home permission slips for the Hallow app, and they were also emailed. If you’d like to take advantage of the free Hallow subscription, please return the signed permission slip. Once we receive it, the Hallow team will send you login information.
Reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Have a wonderful day!
Pax Christi,
Corky McMullen
Principal

Principal's Physical Fitness Challenge
Exciting News!
Mrs. Thibodeau is thrilled to announce the 1st Annual Principal's Physical Fitness Challenge! Throughout the year, our students will have the opportunity to test their skills in Pushups, Pullups, Situps, the 1-Mile Run, Shuffle Run, and Sit & Reach. The aim is to see improvement with each test, promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging physical fitness beyond the school environment.
But that’s not all! Rumor has it that Mr. McMullen and a group of Military Dads are gearing up to challenge our students at the end of the year. If you spot Mr. McMullen practicing bear crawls and cartwheels down Felix Place, don’t be alarmed—he’s just in training!
Get ready for a year of fun, fitness, and friendly competition!
