SHERWOOD NIGHT OUT: 10/21/22 Parents- We Need Your Help!!!
The PTO is sponsoring a fun event for called the Sherwood Night Out for our students two weeks from this Friday, on October 21st from 6:30-8:30pm.
- Tickets will go on sale ($5 each) this week at lunches (Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday).
- We will be limiting the number of tickets sold to 500 to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all during the event.

If we do not have enough volunteers or food/water/supplies, we will not be able to run this exciting event for our students!!!
Student Voice Sign Ups
We are excited to have our Student Voice program back and running this year. This program is open to all 5th and 6th grade students. It is made up of 10 crews devoted to a different aspects of volunteerism & community service. Student Voice meets after school on a specific day of the week (depending upon the crew). It offers opportunities to volunteer, make new friends, and support communities. If your child is interested in participating in Student Voice, please open the links below to see if any of the crews interest you.

New After School Activities Now Available
After School Activities Program
The following three classes are available:
- Making Paper Flowers - Mondays
- Board Games Club – Wednesdays
- Hour(s) of Code – Thursdays
Classes will start the week of October 17th and will run for 6 weeks. The cost of each class is $40 for the 6-week session. All classes will be held at Sherwood from 2:55-3:55.

PROJECT SHINE- Open to Girls in Grade 5 & 6
Sherwood Middle School has teamed up with LUK, Inc. this year to participate in a program called Project Shine, a leadership development program created for adolescence girls. This Project Shine will combine several different strategies which specifically address leadership skill development and promote positive relationships which impact young women. There will be an opportunity for a limited number of girls to participate in this fall semester during this current school year. The group will meet at Sherwood on Wednesdays, from 3:00-4:00PM, for 10 weeks, beginning October 19th.

Thank you for all of the apparel orders - they will be delivered directly to students at school in approximately 2 weeks.
NOVEMBER PTO MEETING
The November PTO meeting will be on Monday, November 7th, @ 7PM in the Oak Media Center. We have many items to discuss and plan, and would love more input as well as volunteers to help make these happen! We are a singular PTO that serves both Sherwood and Oak and welcome families from both school to join us.

Student Absence
All parents/guardians must inform the office if their child will be absent or late to school. SPS requires that you telephone us either the night before or first thing in the morning on the day of the child’s absence at 508-841-8670. If we have not received a call to report an absence, the school will be in contact with the parent to confirm the child’s safety.
Dismissal
If you are dismissing your child early, you must call the Main Office at 508-841-8670 (instead of emailing team teachers).
Anonymous School Safety Tip Line
This anonymous form can be used to submit information that may be helpful in ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and property of the Shrewsbury Public Schools in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The form creates an electronic email alert to several staff members of the Shrewsbury Public Schools. It does not go to the Shrewsbury Police Department.
Staff email alerts are generally monitored Monday through Friday during business hours of 8am to 4:30pm. If the information you have is TIME SENSITIVE, please call 911 for assistance. If you wish to speak to a representative from the Shrewsbury Police Department and your concern is not urgent you can reach them 24/7 by calling 508-841-8577.
