Securly Visitor and Sign Out System
Our schools are partnering with Securly, a student safety technology provider to K-12 schools.
We will be using Securly Visitor, a school visitor management system, to check in any non-staff member who visits Great Oak Elementary.
Upon check in, all guests must provide a valid driver’s license. Securly Visitor will:
* automatically perform a background check
* print a visitor badge for anyone staying in the building for a meeting or for any
contractor working in the building
* verify that any person checking out a student is authorized to do so
If you need to make updates or changes to the individuals authorized to pick up your student, please do so in your parent PowerSchool account. Changes can be made by visiting https://oxfordpublicschools.powerschool.com/public/ using the following directions.
We are pleased to provide these increased security measures to ensure a safer environment for our students, staff and visitors. If you have questions about our security measures or usage of Securly Visitor, please feel free to contact me via email or phone call. If you need help with your parent PowerSchool account username or need your password reset- please call the main office at 203-888-6492 and our office staff will be happy to help you.

Student Council Updates
We'd like to thank everyone who donated during our Pink Out Spirit Week. With your help, Student Council raised $296 for Seymour Pink. If you are interested in learning more about their organization or looking for other ways to support the fight against breast cancer, click the button below.
Student Council and Seymour Pink appreciate your support!
During the month of November, Student Council will be collecting for the OPS Stuff the Bus Thanksgiving Food Drive. Check out the flyer below for more information.
Mystery Mascot
In case you forgot...here were the mystery mascot clues.
1. I love the Red Sox.
2. I have 10 nieces and nephews.
3. I love to cook, but hate to bake.
4. I am a both a teacher and a student
5. I love country music.
And here is the mascot "unmasked"! Mrs. Heather Rozum, fifth grade teacher, was a great sport! Who will it be next month? 🤔😉
Mr. Math's Math Mind Maze
The weekly challenge is not just for students. Check out a preview of next week's challenge. Have some math fun with your family. Students submit their answers in the box outside of Mr. Luchina's room. Parents can submit their answers to luchinaa@oxfordpublicschools.org or send in your work with your child. On Friday, Mr. Math randomly selects winners from the correct entries. And there are prizes!!!
Bus Expectations 🚌
Please reinforce the following bus rules at home.
1. Students must remain seated at all times while the bus is moving.
2. Students should not be yelling or using inappropriate words on the school bus.
3. Students should not be eating on a school bus.
4. Students should be listening to the bus driver and following his/her directions.
5. Students need to show HAWKS behavior while riding the bus - Have Respect, Act Responsibly, Work Together, Kindness Counts, and Safety First.
Unfortunately, this is NOT always happening on the school buses! I am receiving numerous bus conduct reports regarding inappropriate bus behavior. Please discuss these rules with your child. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.
