Letters From Leadership
August 15, 2024
Dear Families,
It is great to be back together again as a community. The building buzzes again with the sound of learning. On behalf of the entire SVA staff and faculty, I want to thank you for your continued support and engagement in our community.
Our greatest goal is to provide communication that is timely, but not overwhelming. So, I seek to be intentional about start of the year emails. As you can imagine, arrival and drop off procedures create the greatest need for communication. While we are off to great start, a few tweeks here and there will make the arrival and drop off procedure that much quicker and that much more efficient.
I do want to give a huge shout out to our SVA Community Members that parked in Lockheed’s lot. You did an EXCELLENT JOB following the prescribed path. We want to maintain a good neighbor relationship with Lockheed as they are gracious enough to share their parking lot space when we have large school events.
Thank you for entrusting our team with your most precious gifts. Thank you, also, for modeling good character for your students as you navigate car line. Working collaboratively, we will be able to safely and efficiently get your scholars into the building for their learning day and on your way home to enjoy family time.
In the table linked below, I provide you with various car line scenarios and how to navigate them. I highly encourage you to take a moment to review this important information.
Honored to Serve You All,
Janet Worley

Major Impact On Traffic Including Road Closures Expected August 20-25
As you may know, the Castle Pines Golf Club will host the BMW PGA Golf Championship later this month. The Douglas County School District has been alerted that the tournament is expected to have a major impact on traffic that will include road closures. If you drive or your child drives in this area, please read below for important information we are providing as a courtesy to our staff and families.
The golf tournament is scheduled for August 20-25. This tournament showcases the top 50 players in the world as they compete in the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs. In an effort to ease traffic issues at the Castle Pines Golf Club, a portion of Happy Canyon Road will have daily restricted access from 5:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. during championship week.
