Dear VAP Families,
We are thrilled to welcome everyone back for the 2024-2025 school year! Our teachers and staff are eagerly anticipating a fantastic year ahead and have been working diligently to prepare. We’ve completed extensive safety training to ensure a secure and supportive environment for your children throughout the year.
In addition to our usual activities, we are excited to announce the return of our monthly house meetings, where we will focus on social-emotional learning. These sessions are designed to support your child's emotional growth and foster a positive school community.
Please also note that it is important for all families to review and sign VAP's mobile device policy before the first day of school. You can find the link to the policy below.

Meet and Greet
Tuesday, September 3rd
We are delighted to invite you to our school's Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 3rd! Join us anytime from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
Students should arrive to the event in their dress uniform for this special occasion. It will be a wonderful chance for them to meet their new teacher, take photos, and get excited for the year ahead. At the event, you’ll also find a table with information about the exciting clubs available this year. Be sure to check it out!
Additionally, please make a stop at the student information station in your child's classroom to complete and update any necessary details. We look forward to seeing you there and kicking off a fantastic school year!

Calling All Artists
World School Milk Day- Poster Contest
Attention artists— Enter the 2024 World School Milk Day Poster Contest for your chance to shine! Share your creative take on "Milk: Fuel for Learning" and your artwork could be featured as the official campaign design for World School Milk Day on September 25, 2024.
All posters should be submitted by Friday, August 30th.
Middle School Information
Middle School Athletics
Fall sports for middle school will kick-off as soon as we return, so it's crucial to plan for team uniforms and rosters now. Here’s what we have lined up:
Flag Football: Open to all 6th-8th grade boys and girls. Practices and games will take place after school during the week from September through October.
Volleyball: Open to girls in 6th-8th grades. Practices are during the week, and games will be held on Saturdays at the Forza training center in French Valley.
Cross-Country Running: Open to all 6th-8th grade boys and girls. The team will compete in a few meets this fall, with training runs scheduled during the week.

Middle School Specialty Electives
We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with an outside vendor to offer three exclusive specialty elective courses each quarter, in addition to our wide range of free elective options. These specialty electives come with a small additional fee, which will be billed through your ALMA account with parent permission.
Due to limited spots, we encourage you to sign up now to secure your place in these unique courses. Below are the course descriptions for the first three offerings. Students will register for all other free elective courses during the first week of school.
Game Design: Block 1 $150
Have you ever dreamed of creating a video game? In this course, we will dive into game development. Students will learn the fundamentals of game design, starting with HTML programming. During the course, we will us AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. We'll also work on enhancing writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. Learners will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group game. Together, you'll practice the techniques learned throughout the course to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family. You don't need any previous experience or special software; you'll only need your creativity.
Blend-It-Up: Block 2 $150
Does your child enjoy exploring new flavors and creating tasty treats? Our Blending Basics program introduces young enthusiasts to the art of making smoothies, dips, and more. Students will learn to blend a variety of nutritious and delicious recipes from around the globe including Mediterranean Hummus, Mexican Guacamole, and American smoothies. Our sessions are packed with fun, offering kids the chance to learn blending techniques, understand safety protocols, and enhance their culinary vocabulary. Join us for a blending adventure where your child will discover how simple ingredients can be transformed into exciting healthy creations!
Speech and Debate: Block 3 $150
In this exciting speech and debate class, we'll dive into the world of persuasive communication and argumentation. Students will discover the power of debate, master the art of constructing compelling arguments, and learn how to use persuasive language to win over audiences. Each session will challenge students to logical reasoning, understand evidence, and counter opposing arguments. This class culminates in a formal debate tournament where students can put their skills to the test. Join us for a fun and engaging learning experience where you can become a confident and persuasive young debater!
