December News for Elementary Families
As the holiday season approaches, December is shaping up to be a month filled with excitement, learning, and community spirit. We’re thrilled about all the wonderful opportunities ahead!
The week of December 16-20 will be full of festive fun as we celebrate Spirit Week. Students are encouraged to join in with themed dress-up days, bringing a burst of energy and joy to our halls. On December 16, we’ll enjoy a day of creativity and accomplishments with our Elementary Holiday Concert, where students will fill the air with the sounds of the season, and our 6th Grade Ancient Egyptian Museum, a showcase of our sixth graders’ hard work and imagination. Families should also keep an eye out, as report cards will be distributed on the same day.
Starting December 17, our fifth and sixth graders will begin the Too Good for Drugs Program, an important initiative that builds critical life skills. On December 18, our young entrepreneurs will dazzle us with their ingenuity at the TREP$ Marketplace—a wonderful opportunity to support their creativity and hard work. Then, on December 20, we’ll close out December with joy as our K-2 students share holiday cheer during their Morning Program.
Finally, our holiday recess begins on December 23. We hope this time brings relaxation and warmth for all. School will resume on Monday, January 6, as we begin a new year of growth and opportunity together.
We’re grateful for your partnership and support throughout this wonderful season. Wishing you and your family a joyous holiday season and a very happy New Year! 🎁✨

December's Character Trait: Caring
This month, we’re focusing on Caring—thinking of others first, being thoughtful, helpful, and sharing. Caring individuals show understanding and respect by treating others with kindness, compassion, generosity, and a forgiving spirit.
Here are some ways you can support and nurture this trait at home:
- Model Caring Behavior: Show your child what it means to care by practicing kindness in your own actions—whether it’s lending a helping hand, offering words of encouragement, or showing forgiveness.
- Talk About Feelings: Help your child recognize and understand the feelings of others by discussing how their actions affect those around them.
- Encourage Helping Others: Find small ways your child can help, like making a card for someone, donating toys or clothes, or assisting with chores at home.
- Practice Gratitude: Encourage your child to express thanks to family members, friends, and others who show care and support in their lives.
- Share Stories of Caring: Read books or watch shows that highlight acts of kindness and discuss what makes the characters caring.
Together, we can help our children grow into thoughtful, compassionate individuals who positively impact the world around them. Thank you for your support!
Every Day Counts: Let’s Stay on Track!
Preparing for Winter Weather
During this season, we are enlisting families' help to ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather. Hats, gloves or mittens, and boots are essential to keeping them safe and warm during the winter months. This is especially important for MG students who may not always want to dress for the elements. Thank you for your support!
