Chap Car Line
At Chaparral the front drop-off/pick-up loop is one-way.
- Please be cautious and courteous as you navigate through.
- Do not cut through the parking spaces or use the senior lot for pick-up.
- If you drop-off your student before 7:30 or pick them up after 3:15 the traffic is much lighter.
- Please be a good neighbor:
- Do not park on Onyx Street, this is posted No Parking.
- Do not use the Vale parking lot, it is for Vale parents and students.
- The neighborhood to our south is permitted parking only during school hours.
Carpooling helps reduce traffic, lets kids meet their friends and helps parents. The Denver Regional Council of Government’s Way to Go program offers SchoolPool to connect you with your community. Learn more on their website.

SAC Positions Available
The purpose of the SAC is to provide accountability in an advisory capacity by informing, encouraging and providing opportunities for parent and community stakeholders to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes. The SAC makes recommendations concerning the school’s budget, performance/ improvement plan, and meets at least quarterly to discuss implementation of the school’s plan and other progress pertinent to the school’s accreditation contract with the Board of Education.
We have two openings for parent representatives which includes parents or legal guardians of students enrolled in the school to make the membership as representative as possible of all groups attending the school (Special Education, Gifted and Talented, free or reduced lunches, ELL, traditionally underserved populations, etc.). The parent representative may not be employed at the school or be relatives of an employee at the school. “Relative” includes a person’s spouse, son, daughter, sister, brother, mother or father. “School employee” includes anyone who is a W-2 employee of Douglas County School District RE-1 and is employed to work at the school.
If you are interested in being a voting member on Chaparral SAC, please submit a short bio to Heidi Posavad, hlposavad@dcsdk12.org, by August 30th.
