St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 6 | 13 MARCH 2025
As we reach the halfway point of Term One, things are certainly not slowing down! Swimming lessons are nearly complete for some of our students, and our Year Three and Five students have successfully participated in the NAPLAN assessments. A big thank you to everyone involved in making these events run smoothly.
This week, Mr Mastan and I attended the CEWA Leaders’ Forum at the Perth Convention Centre, where we joined over 500 leaders to explore CEWA’s Strategic Initiatives. I was honoured to present a session showcasing the growth and journey of St Elizabeth’s over the past three years. On Tuesday, I attended the Catholic Primary Principals’ Association conference, where I gained insights into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential in education. While this emerging field is exciting, it also reinforced the importance of teaching cybersafety to our students.
Next week, we will celebrate Harmony Week, culminating in our Harmony Day Assembly on Thursday. With such a wonderfully diverse school community, I look forward to seeing the many cultures represented and celebrated. A reminder that students are welcome to wear traditional clothing or something orange on Thursday to mark the occasion.
Good luck to all our Year Four to Six students who are competing in the Interhouse Swimming Carnival next Friday!
Finally, please continue to keep the Payton family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
God bless

Dear parents and caregivers
It’s hard to believe we are heading into Week 7 already! The term has been packed with learning, fun, and lots of activity. A huge thank you to everyone for your efforts during swimming lessons—our students had an absolute blast, and their enthusiasm was fantastic to see. As swimming has now finished, a reminder that we are back to formal school uniforms from next week.
Icy Poles for Project Compassion
To continue our support for Project Compassion, we will be selling icy poles every Friday until the end of the term. If you’d like more details, please check your Seesaw messages. This is a great way for students to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying a cool treat!
House Captains – Congratulations!
We are thrilled to announce our House Captains for 2024! These students have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and a strong commitment to our school community. They will be formally presented to the school next term, but please join us in congratulating:
🔵Servite – Maddison D & Mikayla
🟢Mackillop – Oscar & Ella
🟡Vincent – Mason A & Emmana
🟠Assisi – Jacques & McKinlie
We know they will do a fantastic job leading their Houses this year!
Swimming Carnival – Friday 21st March
Next Friday, we look forward to our Years 4–6 Swimming Carnival at Aquamotion! The event will start at approximately 9:00 AM and run until around 12:00 PM. We can’t wait to see our students give their best effort, cheer on their peers, and most importantly, have fun!
We will post the carnival program on Seesaw next week, so please keep an eye out for the details.
Father’s Group – Get Involved!
We are keen to get more dads and father figures involved in some of our out-of-school events and build a strong Father’s Group in our community. If you have the time and would like to be part of this, please send me an email at kadir.mastan@cewa.edu.au—we’d love to have you on board!
Let’s continue to work hard, support one another, and make the most of this exciting term! God Bless! 🙏
