AP Exam Information
Late Registration for AP Exams is open until February 28th, 2025. College Board charges a $40 non-refundable fee for late registration. Students need to contact Mrs. Tower at towerd@cabrillo.k12.ca.us to register for an AP Exam.

Before we talk about Winter Sports we need to acknowledge HMB sophomore Alex Sukhorukov for his outstanding performance at CCS and State finals. Alex secured a position at state after a remarkable 6th place finish at CCS with a time of 16:12:1 in a 2.95 mile run. He took the momentum to state competition in Fresno and earned another new PR of 16:16 in 1600 meters. Congratulations, Alex!
Saturday, Boys Wrestling hosted teams from all over California at this year's 57th Annual Peninsula Invitational. Congratulations to Aaron Landin (1st) Gabriel Garcia Procopio (3rd) Fabricio Alvarez (4th) Andres Haro Carillo (4th) and Brian Hernandez Sarabia (5th) on placing at this year’s tournament!
Girls Wrestling attended the Lady Royal Invitational on Saturday to start their season. Carolina Chavez, Samantha Fermo and Pluto Halterman worked hard with Pluto taking 3rd place on the podium. Great work Cougars!
Basketball is having a blast in preseason. The girls have been on a tear showing a lot of speed, and aggressive defense. It's going to be a fun season, no doubt. The Girls are 3-0 in preseason coming off their latest victory vs. San Mateo on Saturday at home, with a score of 43-28
Boys Basketball finished an exciting game vs. Urban on Saturday with a close 47-43 win. They are 2-1 in preseason and look forward to some tough away games and tournament play through the holidays. These boys will be ready to take on league challengers in January, hoping to continue their league dominance again this year.
Soccer teams will be covering the entire bay area this weekend... Girls JV took on Silver Creek in an away matchup Saturday and secured a huge 7-0 victory! Girls Varsity have been working hard and secured themselves a 6-1 win vs. El Camino Thursday, tied Manteca on Friday, and took a tough loss at Prospect Saturday. The girls took a quick rest and will be back at it tomorrow at Gonzalez..
Boys JV Soccer travelled to Salinas and battled hard, coming home with a 2-2 tie on Saturday. Boys Varsity are 2-1 in preseason enjoying their latest 3-1 win vs. Live Oak over the weekend. Boys Soccer hosts Sacred Heart Prep on Wednesday at home- come out and support the team!

Free Math & Science Tutoring

Jay and Leo will be offering free tutoring in math and science every EVEN (Black Bell Schedule) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Room G8, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM.
Drop by, and we'll assess how we can assist your child in math or science!
Need flexible hours? If these hours don’t fit your student’s schedule, they can arrange a Zoom or one-on-one appointment with Jay or Leo either during or outside school hours. Just follow these steps:

Make Sure You Get Credit For Those Hours
Cougars! Now that you’ve volunteered, make sure you get credit for those hours!
Check that your service logs have moved from Pending to Approved.
IF they have not, go back into the log and make sure the supervisor’s email is spelled correctly. When all looks good, click Update Log and then contact your supervisor to ask them to look for the email from MobileServe to verify your hours so they can get approved. If needed, email Ms. Hoffman for support.
Wilkinson School’s Winter Holiday Celebration
Friday, Dec 13, 5-9:30pm – Assist with set up, clean up and help with various stations (dancing, art, food, supervision, etc) at Wilkinson School’s Winter Holiday Celebration.

HMB Robotics
Pumpkin Bots Take First!
On October 26-27th, the Pumpkin Bots (high school team) competed at Capital City Classic, an offseason competition, with their brand new swerve drive robot that they built over the summer. They won first place for the first time in the team’s history! Thank you to our generous sponsors who helped fund development of this new robot. The team learned so much over the summer from building this new robot that they will take into future years.
Coastside Circuits Compete in Their First Competition!
On November 2nd, Coastside Circuits, our middle school team, competed in their first league competition. Their robot was the highest scoring robot in their alliance in many of the matches! It was a great first learning experience for the team!

On Friday, December 6th, the Pumpkin Bots and Coastside Circuits will participate in Half Moon Bay’s annual Night of Lights! Join us at 6pm on Main Street to see our robots charm the town!

Graduation Slideshow Baby Picture Submission
If you haven’t already uploaded your student's baby picture for the graduation slideshow, now is the time! It’s never too early to submit, and we'd love to include all baby pictures to celebrate the Class of 2025.
Diploma/Legacy Form
Please complete the Diploma/Legacy Form (mailed to you in early September) at your earliest convenience. Your student should turn it in to Mrs. Alvarez or Mrs. Acosta in the front office.

Yearbook News & Updates
Senior Portrait Scheduling Update!
Prestige has opened the dates of January 27th/28th/29th, 2025 for your student to take their Senior Portrait if they missed the opportunity in November. Please go to:

and follow the prompt to get your student's 8-digit ID code. You may also email Ms. Baker to access the code. Suggestion: add your cell phone number to get a reminder of your student's appointment. There is a sitting fee, depending on the number of poses you select for your student.
If you have already take Senior Portraits or you made alternate arrangements, you can disregard any messaging about scheduling!

To ensure a copy of the Yearbook, please purchase NO LATER than January 24th. After this date, we will be submitting our final yearbook order #s to the company, and will only have a limited supply of extras for purchase in the Spring.
