What is ASCENT?
Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment (ASCENT) is a fifth-year high school program (fall and spring semesters) that covers tuition costs at a participating college the year following 12th grade. Eligible and approved ASCENT students are able to attend a participating college (trade school, community college or approved four-year university) and DCSD will cover the tuition costs. The ASCENT program gives students the opportunity to continue their education, and follow their path leading to a career in their chosen field.

Meet DCSD Graduation requirements
Student must meet the required 24 credits.
Students must complete 20 community service hours
Graduation competencies in English and Math.
Students must complete an Academic Plan (ICAP)~Naviance Tasks

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming 2nd Annual Career Fair at Catamount and hope you can join us! Following the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural event, we’re excited to build on that momentum for 2025. The event will be structured as follows:
- First Hour: An in-depth look at the many benefits of a career in construction and the trades.
- Second Hour: The Career Fair portion, where students will have the opportunity to meet and network with our valued trade partners.

DRAKE UNIVERSITY PHYSICS PRIZE
A scholarship opportunity to encourage interest in physics, astronomy, and physical sciences, and to give recognition to outstanding high-school students.
We would like to invite your students to participate in the 2025 Drake Physics Prize Examination.
Any high school sophomore, junior, or senior can compete in the Physics Prize. A variety of awards are available, however the first-place award is an unrestricted four-year, full-tuition scholarship to Drake University!
