Students with Interests in IT & Cybersecurity Visit Toyota Material Handling
A group of Scottsburg High School students visited Toyota Material Handling in Columbus, Indiana. Daniel Schumacher, VP of IT Operations, coordinated the tour. Students met with several members of the IT and Cybersecurity teams. Students were able to hear the stories of how the TMH associates got to their current positions. Also, they learned about the cyber tools used at TMH, and how they are bombarded by 30 million attacks each day!
Mr. Tom Lego, Brand Ambassador, took the group on a tour through the Toyota timeline, and a plant tour around the main assembly to see how the IT department supports daily production activities. Mr. Lego also took the group into the auditorium to show the students some prototype models that went into production in Italy and Japan. While on the shop floor, we observed a number of AGVs, automated guided vehicles delivering parts and assemblies from one department to another.
This was a great opportunity for our SHS students to see the real life impact their career choices could make in the world.
