Dress Code for Graduation Day
Students are encouraged to be in business casual wear with comfortable shoes. You will be standing in the tunnels for about 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Business casual can include dresses, slacks, and button-downs, or polos.
Caps may not be decorated.
All cords/stoles must be earned through the GPISD process. ALL GPISD graduation regalia will be distributed at graduation practice.
Search Process - Students and Adults
All graduates will go through a search upon entry and may only carry in their caps and gowns. Cell phones are not allowed on the floor at NRG. Graduates should leave their phones with their family members.
Any cell phones collected at NRG will be available for pick up at ECHS on Tuesday, May 27th following the Memorial Day Holiday.
Please wear only honor cords and stoles earned from ECHS. Any non-approved graduation cords will not be allowed to be worn by ECHS graduates. Caps are not to be decorated. The only item attached to your cap should be your tassel.
Parents and families will also be subject to a search of bags and personal belongings upon entry at the Phillips 66 gate. NRG rules on prohibited items will apply for this event.
No Cellphones Allowed During Graduation Ceremony
- This is the most important graduation policy.
- Must be given to family members prior to ceremony.
- Seized phones will not be returned to student until Tuesday, May 27th, after Memorial Day.
