Book Fair is Coming!
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.

Open Late on October 24th during conferences
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.

5th Grade Recorder Concert
On Tuesday, October 15th 5th-grade students from across the district showcased their talent at the Song Flute Concert. They have learned so much during the first few months of band. We are looking forward to seeing them grow as many of them join band this year.
6th Grade Safeties keeping students safe
Disney 6th Grade students work hard on Safety Patrol, which is led by Mrs. McGuffey
The job of a safety is to help keep all of Disney students stay safe both coming to school and on their way home as well as during school. Some of their duties include helping students cross the street before and after school, as well as helping them lineup while they wait for the day to begin. Other duties have safeties giving up their recess and lunch to help our youngest kindergarten and 1st grade learners.
As a safety, their jobs take place on both beautiful days and days where they might rather stay bundled up inside! We are excited to watch them grow as leaders this year as they take on this new role.
Students are doing a great job and we are proud of them taking their leadership role seriously while continuing to help others. Thank you safeties, for your dedication to helping our Disney students stay safe!
5th and 6th Grade Explore Careers in 21C
5th Grade Visits the Science Center
The fifth-grade students had a great time at the Michigan Science Center. They were engaged while exploring the hands-on museum. The students were able to go through the unique Tyrannosaurs exhibit. This exhibit had real and replica dinosaur bones for the students to view. Lastly, everyone enjoyed a 4D theater experience about Space Junk. This show was a perfect transition to kick off our upcoming science unit. Everyone had a wonderful day!
FPS Strategic Planning Meeting - October 29th
We are excited to embark on the creation of our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan—a roadmap that will shape the next five years of excellence in Fraser Public Schools. This plan will continue to focus on our strong traditions of excellence by staying committed to our core values and beliefs - Innovate, Learn, Lead.
We will be holding a Community & Parent Meeting to kick off the strategic planning process onOctober 29th at 6 pm in the Fraser High School Media Center. All are welcome to attend!
Halloween Around Disney
Parade: A short "Halloween Parade" will take place beginning at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 31st. Weather permitting, we will parade out door #17 and around the building. Our kindergarten students will lead the parade around each classroom and then out around the building. All are welcome to come and watch our costume parade outdoors!
Classroom Activities: Classrooms/grade levels may be planning for Halloween activities and celebrations individually, either before or after the parade. If teachers request parent volunteers to help facilitate the classroom activities, all volunteers will have to submit a Background Check at least 48 hours prior to volunteering.
Costumes: Students may come to school in costume on Thursday, October 31st. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Costume masks can be worn for the parade only, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts/shorts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.
- Masks are not to be worn in school or during the parade.
- HEAVY makeup is not to be worn (light makeup only-eyeshadow, painted freckles, rosy cheeks, etc.). All makeup must be done at home and stay on for the entire day.
- Glitter and fake blood are not to be worn or brought to school.
- Fake or real weapons are not to be brought to school, i.e., swords, guns, knives, daggers, and the like.
- Inappropriate costumes are not to be worn to school. Please choose costumes that are positive and/or represent a good role model for our students.
- No roller blades, roller blade shoes, skateboards or scooters.
- No bare midriffs.
- Please use common sense and good judgement when sending your child to school on October 31st.
Picture Re-Take Day - November 8th
As you know, School Picture Day was Tuesday, October 1st. If your child was absent or needs their picture retaken, Lifetouch has been scheduled to return on Friday, November 8th. If you wish to participate in picture retake, please send the original Lifetouch picture package to school with your child.
Red Flag indicates Indoor Lineup
When the red flag is hung outside the front of the building, this means indoor line-up due to inclement weather. Our students can enter the building at 8:20! As a reminder, the bus loop is not a drop off zone, this area needs to stay open during arrival and dismissal times.
Attendance Matters
Did you know: Chronic absence is defined as missing 10 percent or more of the school year, which is equivalent to missing 2 days a month. It includes all absences, both excused and unexcused. Below are some strategies to help build a habit of good attendance.
