PRAYER
Advent Prayer for Families
Heavenly Father, your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us, a great sign of your love. Guide us as we strive to walk in that love together as a family this Advent. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, bring us closer to each other and to your son. Give us the grace and strength we need every day. Help us to always trust in you. Come, Lord Jesus, lead all people closer to you. Come and dispel the darkness of our world with the light of your love. Amen.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have under a month until we celebrate Christmas.
School Community
In response to the recent fires in California, our school community raised $756 towards our recent fire appeal. We will be sending this money to the Notre Dame Catholic School where many of the Paradise victims are being schooled. Thanks to all who contributed to this appeal.
Book Fair:
Thanks to everyone for supporting the Book Fair this week. All proceeds go towards the teacher's classroom libraries. Thanks to Miss Castro and Miss Short for organizing the Book Fair.
Christmas Program:
The Christmas Program will be on Wednesday, December 19th at 4:45pm. Please note the time change. This is due to the many parish activities at this time of the year.
Congratulations
Congratulations to our 7th grade girls' volleyball team for winning the championship and to our 6th grade volleyball girls who took second place. Many thanks to all our coaches.
Kindergarten Enrollment
Our 2019 Kindergarten class is starting to fill up. It is important that if you have an age appropriate child that you complete the admissions form on our school website. Please direct all inquires to Mrs. Cierra.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener
Principal
Ms. J's JOURNAL
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go. . .”
– Meridith Wilson
Thanksgiving is in the past, and the season of Advent is upon us. As you prepare to celebrate Christmas with your families, please remind your children of the true meaning of the holiday.
Younger children can be dazzled by Santa’s imminent arrival, decorations and sparkling lights, and presents wrapped under the tree. Older children are easily dazzled by the next gotta-have-it item they’ve seen advertised on television or social media sites. It is our job as adults to remind them that all of the stuff – the songs, decorations, presents, and such - are not the reason we celebrate. Rather, they are the means by which we celebrate Jesus’s birth. Christmas is, after all, a big birthday party.
Jesus has sent all of us invitations to his party, inviting us to celebrate with Him. It is left up to us to R.S.V.P.
All the best,
Miss J
CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE
As you know, during the holiday season. Historically, we have collected toys in partnership with the South San Francisco Fire Department for the less fortunate children from the community. The children we help provide the gifts for range in age from 0-17 years of age.
Unwrapped donations are being accepted starting today and continuing though Friday, December 14th. Examples of gifts are educational toys, action figures, games, arts and craft kits, and puzzles. Toys and gifts must be new and in their original packaging (due to safety issues). Fire department representatives will then collect the toy on Monday, December 17th for distribution in our community.
We thank you, in advance, for your generosity.

BOX TOPS
Box Tops for Education was started by General Mills in California back in 1996, after the company decided they wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools. All Souls has benefitted from this program over the years, receiving sports equipment, microscopes, and a variety of other educational items.
You can help by clipping the Box Tops off approved products you already have in your pantry. You don't need to clip the actual product UPC — just the Box Tops logo will do. From frozen foods to produce and household cleaning products, there are literally hundreds of opportunities to help, and each Box Top is worth 10 cents. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up fast.
There are so many participating companies! Participating companies and product lines include General Mills, Green Giant, Totino's, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Ziploc, Hefty, Juicy Juice, Betty Crocker and many more. For a full list of eligible items check the Box Tops for Education website at https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn .
