Guided Teachers Spark Real-World Learning
This holiday season, students in the Guided Program brought learning to life with a unique candy-selling activity. From counting and packaging the treats to handling payments and delivering orders, students took on every step of the process, sharpening critical life skills along the way.
Through this hands-on experience, students practiced money management, improved their communication skills, and honed their ability to package products with careβessential skills for their futures.
The Guided Program at DW supports students with disabilities by providing a tailored academic curriculum, intensive services, and focused instruction to help them build independence, self-care, and functional life skills. These students regularly engage in activities like this, both at District 103 and out in the wider community, helping them thrive in real-world settings.
Check out these snapshots of students in action, learning and growing through authentic, meaningful experiences!
